Will the recent snow in the Rockies have a effect on water levels on the Colorado river lakes this year or does it take multiple years of good snow fall?

Based on snow pack before this week’s storm, Lake Powell would rise about 15 feet. That estimate must now be increased. If the lake drops to 3606 at the low point and then rises 15 feet the new elevation would be 3621. Currently, Lake Powell is at 3608 ft. (Full pool being 3700) The Castle Rock cut opens for small boats at 3615. Officials are hopeful that may happen during May and definitely by early June. Every drop of moisture helps. Let's hope for more snow, and a very wet spring.

Some affecting areas of Colorado are now approaching 100% (of average ) snowpack and and they think more snow will fall next week...

uuuuuuummmmmmmmm........i think he's got a pretty good point http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ohboy.gif from what i've been told here in vegas, it would take 5 years of average snow fall/rain fall to put lake mead back to what it was. from what i've seen on the news lately, several states that feed the colorado are above avg. on there rain/snow for the year right now. but like eveyone else has said, every little bit helps.

The ranger at the lake entry gate from lake mead dr. told most of recent snow fall is on the wrong side of the rockies to effect our water levels.
