How many of you guys (and girls) live in LV or Henderson?
Just curious.

Where are you originally from?

I'm in Vegas (NLV to be exact) up by Ann Rd and Decatur. I know Greg is even farther North than I am.

Thor, are you coming to the safe boating class on the 25th?

I dont know about the safety boating class. What time? Where? Is it on the water? In a parking lot?

How much daylight will this take up? Let me know when.

I am in the northwest also, just not that far out. D.I. & Town Center.
I thing Greg lives in Reno.

I joke about commuting from Reno to work every morning, and then back. It's a way's out there for sure.

STV has the specifics on the USPS deal, I'm going but don't have the info in front of me. We had a thread on it I think it was called boating safety course. I know it's Sat. the 25th around 10 and in Henderson. I think he said it was 4 hours, but I'm not positive. We are going out on the lake either that aft. or Sund and Mond too though!

Here's the thread on the course: Safety Course Thread (http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=2;t=26)

As it says, you have to pre-register and get the book. $20 for the book, the class is actually free. The current plan is for the class to be held in one of the meeting rooms at a dealership in the automall. Starts at 10am and is 4-5 hrs long.

See that thread for more info.

Dave,
I just sold my house in Paradise Hills (Horizon & Mission). Where do you live up there?

BADFISH II
05-14-2002, 08:45 AM
You sold it??? I thought you were trying to move back here?

THOR

Easy now!
I am still trying. The job market is a little dry right now. I am working on some things but nothing yet. If I find the right job, I will move back in a second. But, I will move back to Green Valley which is way away from most of you.

I'll be moving over to Green Valley by early next year. I can't stand the 95 and I'm too far from the Lake!

dave

I'm glad to hear that Greg. The other side of town is cool but the traffic is horrible and the lake is so much closer over here.

I'm not too familiar with the different parts of town. Where is Green Valley? I am looking in the Henderson area off Sunset. One of my neighbors at the river is a dentist near there and said there are some really nice areas in my $200-$300 range. Would you agree, or is there better?

BADFISH II

Green Valley is in Henderson, and I would totally agree with that statement

RL,
You live in Irvine now? Are you moving to LV or just wanting another house?
300K in Henderson should get you something around 3000-3500 sf and nice. Mine was 2700 and sweet for 240K.

What is this with everyone leaving SoCal when I just arrive?

BADFISH II

If I have my choice, I'll stay here for a long long time. Hopefully I won't have to move again. This is a great place to live http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well, that is my range (or will be in 6-12 months when I plan on moving). Of course I would like to get the most for my money, but honestly, something with some space and a lot of potential would be perfect. A pool and spa (or room for..) is a must! I would like to buy something that would work for a very long time.

There are quite a few reasons I want to move there. I am pretty tired (already at age 25) of the "rat race" here in SoCal. My Dad has been a part of it forever, and it quite frankly makes me nuts. He makes a s**t load of money, but works almost 7 days a week, 14 hours a day and isn't even close to getting things done!! Everywhere you go it's a contest, who is the big dog on the block. I don't really give a s**t who the big dog is. Most likely it's a person who works too damn much and to me the money ain't worth it. I love the desert. I love the lakes and rivers. And I think there is the potential for a good life to be lived out there. I want to find the perfect happy/medium where I am making decent money, but actually have time to enjoy it.

My Dad is retireing soon, so he is now using his money to buy franchises. My sister and her husband chose to stay here, and I chose to take Vegas which I will be opening 2 or 3 in the Vegas/ Henderson area in about a year.

I am very open to all opinions of life out there. We go into Vegas/ Henderson about every other weekend and like it very much so far. It seems like a place where one can get more for there money. Am I right? Also, how would you say the schools and neighborhoods are? Pretty safe, pretty clean?

BADFISH II

I love it here, but I totally think it depends on where you live. For you, being who you are as I know you from the site, I would stay in Green Valley like the seven hills area. Nice, quiet, clean, good schools. Summerlin is nice too, but farther from the water.

What type of franchises?

THOR

RL,
Like Greg said, what type of franchises? If you need help, let me know. I would love to move back.

The GV area is great, but I am from there. Schools are great as well, from what I hear. Seven Hills is awesome, but there are a bunch of association dues and many of the associations dont allow boat parking in the RV access along side of your house. Go figure. They offer RV access in houses but dont allow you do park an RV. I ran into this allow when I was house searching. But, there are a select group of housing tracts that have tandem (double deep) garages in GV/Anthem. Go to www.greatlasvegashomes.com and search in Henderson to get an idea.
Buy one for me while you are there.

It's amazing to see how close we all are, I am at 95/Horizon also. Go figure.

Thanks for the input guys, it's very helpful. Â*When it gets closer to buying time maybe we can hook up a couple of days and you can show me around, I'll buy you guys dinner or something. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

As for what kind of franchises they are, I want to wait until they are actually being built to devulge that. Â*You know how it is http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*Lets just say they are along the fast food line of franchises...... Â*kind of (but better I think).
Believe me Thor, if there is someway I can help you I will, I just don't know if you would make enough, however I don't know what you make now or what you'd be happy with. Â*I'll certainly see what my options are. Â*We'll get you back there one way or another!

BTW - thanks for the site recommendation, now I'm really pumped on coming out!!

RL,
de nada mi amigo. Anything to help out. I know I was in need of serious help when I first moved.

Site info? Are you referring to Mike Mack's? If so, I have stayed there once and have vowed to make it a yearly deal. It is a bit pricy, but if we can all plan on a good weekend to go down there, it would be unbelievably fun. I know the number, so if Greg, you, STV, Beachbum, (basically whoever wants to go) etc. can get a weekend in mind, we should go. Better yet why doesnt Greg just buy a house in the keys so we can all stay there. Greg?http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I'll buy a little hole in the wall and rent it to you http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Either that or I've learned alot from the homeless in downtown LV here on how to properly prepare tent cities - that may work

I live in Henderson (Green Valley) near Pecos & Wigwam. Â*It is great over here(no west side traffic) and close to the lake. Â*I need to get a picture of my Howard to post for you guys.

Every one that doesn't live on the west side, always talks about the west side traffic. I have lived on the west side for 4 years and have not noticed it. Maybe I'm just used to it being from So. Cal.

Get us that pic d2!

I drive from Durango and the 95, and rush hour can get pretty bad. Maybe I was just spoiled in Salt Lake where there's almost no traffic, but I lived in CA most of my life and even my friends who come out from So Cal that hit the rush hour think the 95 is like Orange County or LA
