Took a drive up to Seattle this weekend...2500 miles in 3 days! :eek3: Kyle and I left Thursday night at 8 PM. Was pulled over by a CHP at 8:45 PM! I explained to him why I was lasered at 80 MPH and after short :director: he proceeded to let me go with a warning. :D Once back on the road stopped at my sisters in Sacramento for about 3 1/2 hours of sleep and then back on the road. Stopped at the University of Oregon to tour the campus and then proceeded on to Seattle. Reached Seattle at 8:30 PM Friday night (that is 1200+ miles in 24 hours). Stayed with a friend Friday night, got up early Saturday to drive over to the University of Washington to tour that campus while we were up there and then met the now "old owner" at 9 AM. At 10 AM I took the ownership of a new to me 1999 Hallett 300! :jump: We left Seattle at 10:30 AM and proceeded to crawl our way back home. Got back to my sisters at 12:30 AM Sunday for a few more hours of sleep and left there at noon Sunday. Pulled into my driveway at 7 PM Sunday night. Not sure if I would ever do that kind of marathon trip again but I guess the end result was worth it! :lookaround: Anyone want to see pics? Oh, screw it...going to post them anyway! :rollinglaugh:

We did a lake test on Lake Sammammish back in November when the wife and I went up there. It was 38* and colder than shit but while I was behind the wheel driving it...who cared! :D

Catalina...not sure if I ever will. Don't want to dunk the trailer in the salt and it will be stored in Havasu so getting out here will be difficult but you never know.

So the guy before had it in Seattle but never put it in the salt? I would have thought that the best boating up there would be in the salt.:chin_scratch:

Wish I had the time but still have it at the house and need to have a few things fixed first and need to add a few things before I take it out to Havasu.

Yes, that is correct, Dave. He never did salt with it. That was one of the big reasons behind him selling it. He was only really able to use it about 3 months out of the year up there and wanted to get into something more "enclosed" that was more condusive to the weather up there and was able to go in salt so that he could travel over to the San Juan Islands and other places within the Puget Sound.

Ah... I see. Beautiful boat. His loss is your gain. Can't wait to see it in person.

No shit, Kurt! I guess I had a weak moment after a few cocktails and the family talked me into it! :thumb: This may be a stretch, but I am thinking that with twins I shouldn't have to push it as hard so I should be saving some $$$ on fuel. What are your thoughts? :dunno:

Either way, I am just going to enjoy the crap out of it and not worry about all the expenses. Besides, the wifey is in charge of paying the bills so I will just tell her to make it work! :eek3:

Actually, I told Kyle that he is going to a local Junior College next year cuz I can't afford anything else now that I bought the boat that he wanted. :thumb:
