First trip to Havasu in about 6 years. Had a blast! Ran into the LVHB Sheriff too!!
Kevin, we had a great time hanging out with you at Moabi!! Thanks so much for taking the kids for a ride!! Also, thanks for keeping the speed down so we could follow you all the way back to the lake and navigate the zig-zag at the mouth!
Just a few days at Havasu REALLY does a lot to make you want to do a bunch of boating again like the old days.

Had a great time, as well. I was just glad to not be talking to myself all day! :D Didn't see you on Saturday. We were parked in Steamboat until about 11:30 and then headed to the Springs for lunch and then California Cove after that until about 3:30 when we tubed the kids back up to the channel.
BTW....You should really try and get that boat out more often....I have gone through 3 motors in 190 hours!

how is the lake level?

The lake level was probably on the higher end. That mouth area was tricky though doing the zig zag. The first time through for us was Thursday and we decided to follow another boat through the California side. Got part way through and then could see the previous boat's line across the bottom from dragging his outdrive. Slowed down, had churned up silt/mud coming out behind the boat and limped it through. Next time through on Friday, we zig-zagged from the AZ side, it was still shallow in spots 5'-6', but no problems.
Follow a group through on the AZ and watch the water and bottom closely and you'll be fine.

I have never had any problems going through the mouth.
I think that I will have to lead David through this weekend.
Glad you had a good trip, and thanks for the info.

Erich - You probably draft a lot less on plane than us deep V guys do. That is why you have never had any problems. The key is to stay on the AZ side of the mouth island and not the CA side. Water level was fine and there shouldn't be much of a problem. Just watch out for all the floating debri and grass clumps at the mouth. Have fun!
