RUNNIN A FEVER

I can't hear a dam thing over all the crickets in here!

Nobody has anything even remotely interesting to post? C'mon it's sooooo dead.

B!tch about something, current events, did you know Lake Mead water level is up?

Just sayin. :drinkers:

I'll start -

Can't get out to the water this weekend, spending the weekend doing boat maintenance.

Changing motor and drive fluids, installing some new 7.7 JBLs in the boat if they get delivered, recessing the VHF into the side of the glove box and making some custom fender holders for the engine compartment. I'm tired of them taking up my limited storage space.

Anybody doing any upgrades, besides McD -he already shared?

Love Arizona for more reasons than the weather. Good to hear your getting out. Gonna be hard to be home sweating over the boat instead of runnin it.

What lake are you heading too?

Crickets have been multiplying in here as of late. Found out today that I have a bunch of bad cylinders! Going to have to do a valve job at the minimum and hope that there isn't any bottom end damage! :crying:

Scott - Thanks! I know you know. Going to be pulling the motor in the next week or so and tearing it down to determine the cause. Wish this would have happened at the end of last season instead of the beginning of this season. Shops are real busy right now and hopefully I won't be missing too much of this summer.

Sorry to hear it Kevin, best wishes for a speedy recovery. I hear crate motor 525s are a good cure :thumb:

David - After putting in my new interior this winter, my boat fund is completely dry! As much as I would love to drop a 525 in there, I just don't think the CFO will let me do it! :D

Your right PH. Thanks for the reminder!

Well, it looks like the problem is reversion. Tore the whole motor down and didn't find any signs of a leak, bad gasket, or anything at this point. Heads are going to a machine shop today to get cleaned up and mag'd to see if there are any defects. Block will have the cylinders honed to clean up the rust that accumalated on the walls and tweeked the rings. As long as there are no signs of cracks in anything then the reassembly will begin. It looks like I might only be out a gasket set and some labor which would be great!

Lance Oster in Havasu. He is an independent guy that has a ton of experience. In fact, he used to be the mechanic for Eliminator when they had a shop out there.

Gary did my original build back in '05 but I didn't have the time to get it up to Vegas to have him do it this time. The boat stays in Havasu and Lance goes to the house picks it up and returns it when it is finished so I don't need to be out there. It is a pretty good dealio! :D
