Hello, I do not get on much anymore, but now I am stuck at home for awhile, Triple bypass and a new aorta valve las t week, may not get to use the boat until middle of June. I keep it at Mead full time with no way to tow it anymore. Hope to run into someone on the lke this year.:smile:

Got out this weekend the wind made it intresting. Saw 2 boats that sunk and another on the trailer upside down. I have no Idea how that happened but having a flat bottom boat with 40 MPH wind guts can ruin a boaters day. I was glad to have my Kachina though she handled it like a champ. My buddies daughter thought it was a ride a Disney land she had some much fun.

Lake Pleasent north of Peoria. We went out this weeknd the weather was much better so I was able to open it up a little with just Alex and I on the boat. Spedo still isnt working but the tack ran at 4500 wide open. I realy need to break down and get a GPS..

Changing out fuel lines today. Removed all boat seats. Cleaning carpet. Found some sun glasses that I thought were lost at Pirate's Cove during our last LVHB gathering.

Scott - With that motor you have you should probably be more in the range of 5200-5500 WOT. What pitch prop are you running? Once you get a gps, you might see what your max speed is and then try going down a pitch or 2 to see if you gain mph and rpm's. Even if your mph doesn't increase with a small prop you might like the hole shot and mid range better. Also, are you running a 3 blade or 4 blade prop? I seem to remember it is a 3 blade, if so a 4 blade would give you a lot better hole shot, mid range and even top end too. Just my thoughts. :thumb:

Had to replace the starter last week. As always it can’t be easy with my boat. The job started out at $150.00 and finished at $935.00. It turns out my gut feeling was right about 2 months ago when i thought I needed to replace it but all the water mechanics said not you just need to charge your batteries. Two weekends ago after charging the batteries for 4 days I heard the unmistakable noise of the starter breaking apart. When they took the starter off they say that I had also damaged the starter alignment ring. Of course the ring was behind a plate and the only way to get it off was to remove the entire engine. Hence the jump from 150 to 935. I had it out this weekend and it started right up so what I am selling to the Mrs. Kachina 935 well spent. She is not quit on board yet but a few more weekends on the water and she will see it my way.

Try explaining $3800 for a new motor in addition to the new interior I put in this winter before I knew my motor would take a sh*t the first trip of the season! She hasn't been out once yet and all I hear is :director: Going out to Havasu for 11 days starting this Thursday so hopefully she will appreciate all the new things and stop harping about all the money (we don't have) that I am spending on this bottomless hole in the water we call a boat! :thumb:

She also has no comprehension of why we need to go 75 mph when cruising to a location. I keep telling her because we can but she ain't buying it. :smashfreak: So, I just drink beer and let the boy drive us around because I won't let him drive it that fast. :drinkers:

I’ve had the boat out 3 times since replacing the starter and every time it ran great. This weekend she made a comment to one of our friends that she really enjoys the boat. Of course she would never say that to me. Which is fine as long as I know she enjoys it half as much as I do then we are all good. Of course it could all change with the next weird noise or knock in the engine compartment. :insane:
