Well, since Steve pointed out that it has been a little slow in here and I had a few spare moments at work, I thought I would put up some "off the water" stuff that takes place while I am not on the water or at work. As most of you may or may not know, my son is big time into ice hockey. He has played both roller and ice since he was 4 years old. Two years ago, the Anaheim Ducks implimented a high school hockey league. The first year, only one school was able to put a team together. The second year (last year) my sons high school got involved. They didn't start off all that well but worked hard and got suprisingly good very quickly. They took the league championship and out of four tournaments they took 2 championships in both Ohio and Arizona and 1 second in LA. They are coached by ex-NHL player Craig Johnson who played for both the LA Kings and the Ducks.
Anyway, this season started with a tournament over Labor Day weekend in Valencia in which they took the Championship in the 18AA division. Hopefully, this success will continue throughout the season.
