Well,
My worst nightmare about rain! Came home today, and as I approached the driveway, I knew problems have happened! The cover was buckled from my overtons poles holding the tarps up, and as I approached closer, there was about 10 gallons of water on the tarps. The cover under the tarps was had the same amount of water. I went underneath the covers to push the water out, and it was like niagra falls, part in the boat and the other part going over the side. 2 hours later, a shop vac, and 10 more gallons pumped out with my manual siffon pump, the boat is damp now. WILL THIS RAIN PLEASE STOP!!!!!!
Well, off to get some fast food chinese now, and a cold silver bullet to relieve my nerves. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
GOOD LUCK!!! unfortunately it doesn't look like the rain is going to stop any time soon. they are saying we get somewhat of break sometime tonight but it will start right back up again tomorrow. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

That sucks. That is why I am worried about storing my boat outside. It has always been inside, but this winter, I have it stored at a relatives house and enjoying having a garage back. But this summer, it will be back home.

I feel your pain rvrkaos....my boat is on blocks at my mechanics shop, outside of course. So that means that my custom, tight fitting, never leaks cover that is usually attached to my trailer (which isn't there) is probably full of water! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif Oh well, what can you do. Hopefully, I can get my trailer overhaul done quickly and get my boat back on it.

I just put the boat back under the covers as of 11pm. After siphoning out the water, more water was under the seats and gunwall. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif Put more tarps and repositioned the poles to keep the water hopefully out. Another storm approaching, all I can do now is pray for a light rain storm. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ohboy.gif
Well, I am a little worried now. I have the blue tarps on my boat and the water seems to puddle up on top. I am thinking that if it was not puddling up then it would be leaking through. Any thoughts.

Had three inches of water in the backyard as the drains clogged and the water backed up, hear in Valencia. However, the boat is dry in Havasu in its custom garage! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I new that $140K was a good deal for the garage! Even came with "staff" accomodations.

THOR-Those blue tarps shouldn't leak unless they have a hole or unless the ponding water pulls the sides in the boats so the water can flow off the edge of the tarp. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
Atta boy! Thats what I wanted to hear.

Yeah, I just looked outside and saw the water level in the backyard getting really close to going into my daughter's playhouse http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif It's been raining here since yesterday. This rain has it's bad points when we get this much in a short period of time. Although, it can keep on raining to help our lakes out though. Hopefully the snow is stacking up in Colorado so that we can get more than average run-off down to Powell and Mead. Heard a few days ago that the "Stateline Ramp" at Powell is now out of the water http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif We're already looking at other vacation possibilities for the end of July in case Powell is a "no-go."

Brad-Even though Powell is way down...there is still a sh*t load of surface area to cover. Actually, when it is down this far it gives you a lot more beach area and a lot more cave exploring. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Stateline is shut down, and they're probably closing Wahweap next. I won't be able to make Powell anyways http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
This could be a good year to have the boys and miss the boating - GAS PRICES = GAY, WATER LEVEL = GAY, NO BOAT PAYMENT FOR A YEAR = NOT GAY http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Why are all these shut down? I got here late.

The drought is doing it, oh yeah, along with California filling up that lake in Hemet last year. I read that unless they get above average run-off this season, the lake will continue to drop http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif If there are no paved ramps to launch at, then Lake Powell is a no-go for us. We'll load up a vehicle and head up to Wyoming to Yellowstone and camp along the way. Have always wanted to do that trip, never been to Yellowstone. Either way, Powell or Yellowstone, should be a great family vacation. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Have faith guys...Lake Powell this summer! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
thor, just a word of advice....if you really are using those blue plastic tarps make sure you keep the boat out of the sun because they will fade your gelcoat very badly in a very short period of time. there is something in the plastic that seems amplify the uv rays or something. as far as water levels go, how is mead looking by now?? i haven't been out there for at least a month or so. it was low enough last time we were not even able to beach at little sandy. could be a rough summer http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Rude,
I have a cockpit and bow cover along with a custom full cover for towing. On top of those is my blue tarp. Do you thing the gel is still in harms way?

Well let me say the interior should be a concern after a big rain storm. Mildew builds up when I had the cover, and blue tarps on top. I didn't air the boat out after a big rain storm, and my hatch ended up with some mildew yellow stains from the cover resting on the hatch. I tried, everything to get the stains off, but according to Cheetah, I screwed. After every rain storm, check your boat for moisture, and let the boat air out for a day. It'll save you a tramatic experience when you uncover the boat and see stains all over your ghost white interior.

B-Rad, that will be a great vacation if you do go to Yellowstone. I went when I was a teenager and it was amazing! I plan on going back again sometime soon to see it again. Now that I'm older, perhaps I will apprecaite it a little bit more.
