You pay the fuel bill and I will go get it and then take it back after the weekend! BTW...that would only be about $400! :duel:

I might make it out that weekend. I usually launch out of Los Alamitos. Let me know as the date gets closer on where you all are meeting up.

Do you have a steel painted trailer? If so, how is it doing with the salt water? I'm thinking of giving it a try as I can't find a lift for my 27 that is not 300.00 round trip:headshake:
Thanks.

I want to sling my boat also. but this is my first trip on the big blue. I'm in need of some pointers and some locations to put in at. I will be popping my cherry on this trip so "HELP" any and all input would be great. duckbutter will be riddin shotgun, so I'm pretty much on my own! and slightly impaired thanks to his "special" drinks! HELP!

Depending on the size of your boat, there is a hoist at Dana Point. The harbor is great, easy in, easy out. My boat is in Oceanside, so I could tow it up and go out of Dana also.

Dana Point has a limit of 26' due to the placement of their columns for the hoist. I have launched there before and it is very nice not having to worry about the trailer. There is another hoist at Redondo Beach Marina (http://www.rbmarina.com/services.html#launch) that will take larger boats. Not sure what the limit is though but I know KC has launched his 28' Heat there before. According to their website, it only cost $40 for the larger boats.

Once I launch my boat, I usually dock it and hose my trailer off at the wash rack. Then park the trailer, jump in the boat and off I go. I think I do it more times solo than times I have a crew. Then when I'm done for the day I will wash the boat and hose the trailer down at the wash rack.
If you launch at Alamitos, just make sure you bring about 20 bucks in dollar bills. Its $1 for 4 minutes of running water. It will generally cost me $4 bucks to utilize the wash rack and $10 parking permit. Still cheaper than lifting it at $40 bucks, but thats a pretty cheap lift too.
My trailer is a painted steel trailer and has been fine since I've had it new in 2002. So after the weekend of fun I will generally re-lube all the grease points and WD40 all the nuts and bolts to prevent corrosion. I have a little rust from the rock chips on the freeway, but those cant be avoided anyway. Next boat will be a painted aluminum trailer.

Thanks LASINC, I'm likely going to trailer launch it as opposed to lift - being that I can't find one! I've got to get the odds and ends repaired on the boat before I head out. The lake is one thing but in the ocean all has to be working perfectly.

When you guys wash down your trailers, use salt-away. You can also use it on the boat. When I raced PWC back in the day, we used to always have to put the trailer in the water. We did a lot of ocean races, so it saw plenty of salt water. The salt-away worked really well. :thumb:

Don't forget your GPS. It is usually pretty foggy at that time of the year.

You guys should be going out THIS weekend. That's when most people are going to be out there due to the Poker Run. Hell, we even signed up in the SLOW boat.
Can't wait either! That SCOPE crowd is a blast!

Well that fell thru
I was told by my instructor(BJJ)
that if I missed the opening of his gym that he would break my arms:smashfreak:
but then Monterey called and said that it was falling thru on his end too
so I'm glad I could try and get this started and then bail out at the last minute

It works out better for me that it may get rescheduled, I really wanted to go. Now I have a bit more time to get the boat "sea" worthy.
