Am I supposed to have a "pink" slip for my boat/trailer like you would for a car? The reason I ask, is I can't find one for mine. :smashfreak: I have looked everywhere and can't find it so now I am questioning whether or not I should have one. It may be that I never got one from Eliminator when I purchased it and may have to get a duplicate but where would I go to get one? :dunno:

I take it you own it out right.....If that is the case, I believe you should have one in hand. If you financed it, the lein holder should have it. I could be wrong though.

Yes, paid cash for it when I bought it. That is what I thought. I may have to dig deeper in the files and see if I can find it. :insane:

Any ideas who would I contact to get a duplicate?

You can get a duplicate title at the Department of Wildlife... here is a link...

Or the California equivalent. ;)

Wouldn't it be AZ for the boat and CA for the trailer since that is where they are registered, respectively?

Kevin - AZ doesn't issue a "pink slip" for the boat. We bought both of our boats outright and only the Essex which was originally registered in California got one. When we moved the boat permanently to AZ and re-registered it there I had to send the California pink to the AZDGF. For the trailer you can get a duplicate from the DMV - no sweat - just takes a visit.

Mike - I was just checking out the AZDGF website and what you said matches what I was surmising. It looks like all I have to do is fill out a bill of sale for who ever buys my boat and then they can go down and transfer the registration. As for my trailer, I guess I will be heading down to the DMV and getting a duplicate. Thanks for the info.

You mean I transported your Eliminator paperwork off your boat from Havi to So. Cal. today for nothing. Think how that affected my gas mileage.:rollinglaugh:

Sounds like you may have it sold McD. Or just getting the duck in a row?

There is a place on the bottom front of your az reg that you fill out to transfer ownership just like a pink slip. Fill it out andprint up a bill of sale and you are done.

I think a drink or two might cover the costs! :thumb:

Nope...just getting my ducks in a row in case someone was to come along. :thumb:

Printed up the bill of sale, so I guess I am good to go now. Just need a buyer! :lookaround:

Found out that a trailer with a PTI (permanent) registration doesn't get a title issued. Since mine is a PTI trailer, all I have to do is fill out a transfer of ownership form and done deal!

Interesting.. I have 3 PTI trailers and 3 titles, just double-checked.. On the title under expiration they all say PERM. Most recent was registered in 03 when I bought my boat and was a transfer from AZ title(Left boat reg'd in AZ, but trailer moved to CA). Could be due to age/change to newer registrations?

I think so. If your trailers are older (pre PTI) then you had titles for them. I could order a title for it but don't have to have it to transfer so why bother.
