work in sound/ electrical for television production currently at Warner Bros. Studios (my commute is a bitch).
Would like to move to Vegas/ Henderson someday (probably the next year or two, but may buy a house there within 6 months, may want some advise from you guys that already live there).
My family has a place at Cottonwood Cove, Lake Mojave so that is where I primarily boat, but we are looking for a lot to build a house in Needles, so I will then boat there.

I am actually selling a 9 month old house in Henderson. 2700 sf, granite, berber carpet, double RV access, fully landscaped w/ patio, two story, 4 br, 3 bath, bonus room
Why are you moving to LV? Just curious. I always asked just to see if it is because of the cheaper cost of living. Do people ever have a tough time finding jobs in LV?

RL - my X works at Warner Bros. Lucky you http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Hopefully you haven't had the pleasure of running into her.
Thor, how much are you selling the house for? I don't think many people have a tough time finding a job here, I've met a few people who've moved here and found jobs right away, but I had the job lined up before I moved.
LM1,
I am asking 244K. I am not real motivated yet because I am still hoping to find a JOB back in LV. I am in LA now but my wife is in Henderson. BTW, I will not release the address to any of you guys now that you know she is all by herself with the dog and boat. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
No luck yet with the job thing.

Just wondering. I'm buying a house here (renting now) and struggling with whether I'm going to pull out because it's so expensive.
Best of luck finding a job back here http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
How expensive. You are pulling out of LV or just the house? I never thought I could afford mine either but you will find that you make do.
Now, here in LA, I am looking at stuff that is 400K for a fixer-upper, no lie.
I am really unhappy about that.
Good luck,
THOR

it will be a little over 300. I'm definitely not leaving Vegas, just deciding if I bit off more of a payment than I should have.

Thor, thanks for the info., that's good you're not too motivated yet, becaues it will like I said, be a good 6 months or so before I start looking. BTW, what is the lot size, a pool and spa is a must, is there room? I am really wanting to move there for the quality of life, mainly. I am very uninterested in the "rat race" associated with life here in So Cal. People move too fast, want too much, expect too much, I refuse to pay a giant premium to live here...... the list goes on and on. My dad makes almost seven figures, and even that seems to not get you very far. It's rediculous. The desert just calls to me! I love the heat, the scenery, etc. and everything I like to do is out there anyway. I grew up on the beach, but have found that I rarely go anymore. Any free time I get, i go to the river or something! About the job thing, with the money I have saved and what my Dad has given me, I am going to be opening some franchises out there. It is a California company, that wants to broaden their horizons. I don't want to say too much about it just in case it doesn't fall through, but i have the chance, I think I am going to take it. I want to get more for my money.
Greg, what do you mean it's too expensive. Maybe I've been here tooooooo long, but from what I have seen so far, it's very affordable out there. Maybe you can educate me more about stuff I may not know?

In the scheme of things I'm debating whether I want that big of a payment, that's all. I'm enjoying my free cash flow here, because partying in Vegas isn't all that cheap! Housing is definitely affordable here though, and the quality of life is good. It's a great place to live, and I wouldn't want to go back to socal that's for sure!

Sounds good Greg. I guess since I've grown up in SoCal. anything seems affordable to me. That house that Thor might sell would cost over $500 here easily. Our neighbors just sold theirs for $600!!! and it's very plain http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/stare.gif
Anyway..... didn't mean to start one of those thread turn around things....... Back to it, so you are... and your boat is...... what do you do for a living.... etc. Keep it rolling!

RL, Greg,
I would give anything to move back to LV, but I have to go where I can make a good living. Like I said, if I could find something in my field I would move back in a second.
300K for a house in LV? That must be an awesome house.
My house now has a 85' x 110' lot. Plenty of room for a pool. ( I forget who was asking)
Dave, which construction company do you work for? I used to work for Ahern.
