Hello all,

I just spoke to Greg and he said this is the best way to get the word out that
BBSC Endurance Sports is readying for another great season of triathlons at Lake Mead and we could use you help.

We are hoping some of you will be interested in coming out to Boulder Beach on Saturday April 19th at 6 a.m. to help provide support for the swim portion of the event. There will be about 1000 athletes this year so the more the merrier.

We expect this portion of the event to be over by 7:30 a.m. so we wont need you all day, but please stick around so we can feed you some BBQ and give you some swag.

Please contact me directly if you have interest or questions.

What do you need us for? Rescue? Backup rescue? Holding off other boaters? If I'm off, I'll be more than happy to assist you.

Kim !

Hi Kim,

Thanks for your post.

We are mostly looking for boats to help create a perimeter around the course to be visible to other boaters. The kayakers and the jet skis are pretty good at brining in tired swimmers, but would like to have you guys out too, to help out.

There will be no more that 300 people at a time in the water, and the really long course (1.2 mile swim) will only have about 100-125 athletes in the water.

Let us know if you have any other questions! If you decide to come out, please contact me directly to let me know, so we can stay on top of our counts.

Thanks again! Hope to hear from you!

a word of caution for anyone doing this event. the rude crew did this event a couple of years ago and did get read the riot act by a lady on a kayak tellling me the exhaust from my boat was a causing a problem for the swimmers and that i needed to either turn the motor off (which works only for a couple of minutes because you start to drift either towards or too far away from the course) or leave the event. i tried to position myself on the other side down wind and a bit further back from the course. i'm not bashing this event whatsoever. i just want everyone to be aware that if you have through transome exhaust or o/b power you may not be welcomed with open arms.

i was going to post a couple of pics from the event we attended but it won't let me into the page to post them from?

Especially if you continually shutting down and starting up. That's when 2 strokes seem to burn their cleanest.:insane:
