Sounds great. But will have to pass on this one. Be safe and watch out for the "stinkin' dirt". I've spent some time in the area ... as discussed.

Workin', on a Saturday? Hmmmm I wonder if Mrs. McD has to "work" this Saturday also.
You missed the whole story. Ashlyn fell in the dirt a few weeks ago and when she got up she said "stinkin' dirt". I said hey isn;t it supposed to be stupid dirt, she said no I say stinkin.

I'd meet you up there being it's just around the corner from my house, but I have to remodel the bathroom after the flooding from this weeks rain. Getting about a 1/3 of my roof redone. I'd rather go riding but another time.
Enjoy.

From that pic you posted....looks like you might need some "lockers"! :D
PUMP 'HER'
02-04-2008, 04:09 PM
Definitely need lockers, along with a little more suspension travel and gears and bigger tires and a 4:1 transfer case and tougher axles and... about 20 grand in more stuff. But that would take all the fun out if it. It's great to be able to climb anything you want, but it's more fun to me to do what you can with as little as possible.

It was awesome. Forgot the camera but my bud had his I'll post 'em when I get 'em. Git stuck a couple of times and saw the holes I fell in last week this time without snow, they were huge! He has a nice little video I'll be sure to share. Y'all are missing out on some good times!

OK here are the pics. (http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh86/dezertdog1/Cleghorn%202-9-08/) Some good some not so good. But you have to at least check out This video. (http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh86/dezertdog1/Cleghorn%202-9-08/?action=view¤t=powerslide.flv) Never mind the narration and the action is only the last 40 seconds or so and it doesn't look nearly as cool as it was doing it. :eek3:

:cool:Was it steep during the video? It doesn't look like it is but pictures don't capture the steepness very well. If it's not, then I don't understand why you had to back up and get a run at it. :dunno:
The snow is cool.
PUMP 'HER'
02-11-2008, 10:00 PM
You know, it wasn't real steep but it was up a hill a bit. When I tried to take off it started digging in. After working for about 45 minutes to get my buddy out on that same section I wasn't about to get it stuck right then. So I backed downhill to a dry patch to get a run at it.

Looks like a lot of fun! So when are the "lockers" coming? :D
PUMP 'HER'
02-12-2008, 02:17 PM
Evidently they are not in the budget according to the CFO. Of course I don't want to just do a cheaper Detroit locker, I've gotta have ARB, on board air and new gears while I'm at it.
kevnmcd
02-12-2008, 02:44 PM
Maybe you should do baby steps and just start with some lockers? :lookaround:

Most offroad competiors use Detroits and are considered better than ARB's. I have ARB's with redunant(sp) onboard air system just becasue I like to control my lockers.
PUMP 'HER'
02-12-2008, 07:15 PM
Yeah I want ARB because it's, well not quite a daily driver but I do like to drive it around town often. Locked all the time your gonna have trouble making the turn in the drive thru lane at In-n-Out. I think I'd run the ARB's off of a Viair set up rather than just the little compressor that they come with.
NdaWind
02-13-2008, 06:38 PM
I left my little compressor in the loop when I added and extra A/C compressor for air only. With ARB's you have to have air and with all the things required to make that happen something is bound to break sooner or later. The A/C unit also allows me to fill up my tires and run air tools, real helpfull when you need to change a tire :thumb:
PUMP 'HER'
02-13-2008, 07:20 PM
Was the A/C compressor a kit like the one from York or did you put it together yourself? Was it easy, do you run a tank with it?
NdaWind
02-14-2008, 04:41 AM
Yes it is a kit from Kilby and yes there is a tank. Tank is bypassrd if I use the little ARB compressor.
