That is a pretty good ride but if you'd rather boat than drive that's all good. I'd say it's around a 30 mile run from Kats to Owl. Only issue then is do you want to deal with the crowds at Katherine's?

PH is right. Dealing with the crowds at Katherines....Let's see wait 2 hours to retrieve or spend an hour driving back from Cottonwood.....Screw Katherines.....Also, cruising up the lake from Katehrines, while a nice long ride you never know what the big basin will be like.....Rather bypass it all together...

As long as your not runnin a chrysler power plant I think you'll be just fine. A spare fuel pump and filters are a must. Buy a spare pump, fill it with WD-40 and wrap it in a bag water tight, and your set.

We run it all the time.. go in a day early and get a slip to beat the long lines.

But for the regatta.. Cottonwood is best.. Owls Cove is not far.. but it is about a 38 mile run up to the damn from there. About 65 miles from Katherines. You would barely have time to hang out and enjoy the festivities after the run if you are going all the way back down to katherines. JMHO

Every event that we have had under the LVHB name as been kid friendly. Everyone is very respectful of the "family" during these events and you shouldn't think twice about bringing them!

I'm in gear now. Slow start, but no more pit stops until 07-20-08. I've also been in contact with Performance Boats. TT admin guy. States he will talk with Chris. Most likely be on their calender. PMs sent to Hotboat for whatever they can provide. I'm also working on Mercury Marine and any other "boater related entity" to see what they can provide us as well. My plans are to be in BHC on 07-13-08 so I can get everything together for the coming week. I have a couple of house issues and will be available via the web or by cell. Just a thought ... whoever is coming maybe they can bring something to throw into box for drawings and giveaways. This would help with the cost and time running around to every place. We need to make sure the "young ones" have a great time. We adults have the best time being with everybody anyway. Will see what happens.

Glad you are planning to attend. A schedule will be posted soon. As soon as I can get my "unhappy rearend" in gear. However, some of us will be arriving at around 9:00 a.m. Most peeps arrive "fashionable late" during the day. Some members stay in Laughlin and drive up to Cottonwood Cove the morning of the event. It's about an hours drive. Most of the casinos have boat parking. The Riverside has plenty of parking. I've stayed there with the boats a few times and no problems. I've also stayed at the Pionner. Crap rooms but their security is the best in Laughlin for watching the toys.

In your boat, Owl Cove is a perfect place to boat camp. That's what I did last year and it was a blast.

I drank all of the Schlitz this week while in BHC. I've got a few cans of Schaefer left that I'm drinking right now. JAP turned down the Schaefer and drank Corona this morning.

OK KIDS! We sat at Owl Cove all day today and none of you drop by to see if the beach was available. We have two Easy Ups with blue tops. There is several other families there also. Bring your anchors since there is a limited amount of beach for boats. We have three boats one Eliminator cat, one DCB cat and one Hallet. The other people at the beach are cool and have freindy dogs. If you get to Cottonwood tonight and would like to share some cocktails we are at Space 164 and 192 just come up Sage St. and park in the dirt lot next to the Bronco and red trailer. Just look for us we will be at one of the homes. See you all in the morning.. Mike

Travis it was great seeing you and the family, that truly is a beatiful boat that you have, Sorry we did not call on Sunday but when I woke up and saw the storm coming, I put the boat away and figured we were on our way home after breakfast.
