I really like how Karen can sit in the boat at 70mph and not have the wind blow her contacts out..... Everything about the boat seems to be very well thought out. Very comfy!

Congratulations KC!
So let's hear more details. What are you runnin in it? And what about the tunes? I know how much you like a bumpin stereo. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
kc0000
01-27-2003, 07:09 PM
has not been in the water yet, not until Feb 8-9. Â*The current stereo is basically - basic, unfortunatly that will have to do for now as I am a touch strapped for cash.
the 496HO will push the Bravo I 24p to something near 70 mph, it can also spin a 26p for a little more top end - but I enjoy the accelleration of the 24p. Â*
Very smooth ride, very smooth controls, way easy enough for Karen. Â*Bill taught Karen how to place the boat onto the trailer, not that it is hard, but it is only her second time driving a boat. Â* http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
The interior is awesome! Â*Way functional and very comfy. Â*I'll have more pictures after the coming weekend. Traded the Eliminator in.... Â* did you know that in AZ, you do not pay sales tax on the dollar amount of your trade in? Â*Way sweet!
Now, I just need something to pull this puppy with! Â*The X5 will be fine between the boat bays and the launch - but the trip to Powell is another story.
sounds like a new excursion with a power stroke is in order http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/stare.gif

Very cool.
But, just curious, why did you get rid of yours? Just a change? Bigger?
Or, did you get a smokin' deal from the Boat Brokers. Are they good people there? It seems like just yesterday you were re-doing the motor in the Eliminator.

Karen scuffed her knee on the mid-cabin of the eliminator - so out it goes! Actually, it comes down to time, money, comfort and priorities - priorities have changed towards being with Karen and the kids, that is a time commitment that focusses my efforts towards family and away from tinkering in the garage. The Eliminator is a great boat, in fact it is probably all ready sold, being 6'4" and 200+ I'm much more comfortable on the Nordic, at the end of last season I found myself standing behind the driver seat while driving the boat... long arms and long legs need room to roam!
From a money perspective, my boat payment is going up by only $160 per month. I feel like I got a boat show deal, eliminated the Eliminator payments from the equation in the process, no wait for delivery. Sure they got the best of me on the trade, but after the AZ tax advantage it was not worth the hassle of selling the boat on my own, especially in a down economy. No risk!
Wild Bill Gardner 800-488-0258 x223 is a good guy - I would buy from him again. Let your sweetheart do the negotiations, he will cave!
This Friday I'm going to take my big 4D AGM Battery out of the Eliminator and place it into the Nordic - that is it!
Defect to Nordic..... The Eliminator is a great boat, that hull will cut through any chop as long as you hang on, I'm moving from a pure performance hull to another performance hull with a lot more comfort - The Nordic is very functional and well thought out, no sharp edges, very kid and adult friendly. With the 28 Heat, I can easily invite friends out for the weekend without concern about space.
This boat was parked in the back corner of their building, dark, once we brought it out into the sunshine that paint scheme really comes to life! It looks fantastic sitting on the water, pictures this weekend if I have time.

I'm rounding at 70mph, I won't know the actual speed until after the motor is broken in. 70mph is a certainty with a 26p, just wondering what kind of accelleration I'll loose. Accelleration is far more important to me than top speed. Water injection will also be installed on the 496HO, that will make all of the difference on a hot day.
KC
Well KC, throw a blower/whipple/procharger on it right now and it well get busy. You should see 80.
But, from personal experience go with the bigger prop. The acceleration may suffer, but cruising at a higher speed and getting more top end will put a smile on your face and will let the motor rest a little more.

no, no,..... non of that..... comfort and functionality over speed!
this boat is staying completly stock except for the batteries, water injection, and eventually the stereo...

The guys on the RRX site, in the past, have never gotten to 70 mph on gps with the same set-up. I think mid 60's was the rule. One guy even said once that he would buy beer for everybody and throw a party if his ever got over 68http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif It sure is a fast boat on stock, single power though.
