Good seeing you Gary. I only went as far as just past Owl Cove. Wanted to save the fuel. Ended up go down to Gasoline Alley around noon-thirty. :)
Daddymack has some pics from the ride home today. WOW!

I had a good time watching the boats. The boat got a little hot on the way up, turned out I trashed an impeller. I replaced the impeller with a spare I had, and right in front of cottonwood I blew a cooling hose. Put some F-4 tape on it and found a camp site for the weekend. The F-4 held up well, but was still leaking some. I am going to replace all the pressure side hoses. I figure they are going on 10 years old.
I ended up idling to a campsite close to cottonwood and having a great weekend. Sorry I missed you guys.

How far is it from Cottonwood to the Dam? We made the trip Saturday too - went through 3/4 of a tank (about 72 gallons roughly). It's still the best run! But MAN does the gas put a damper on it!
Good to meet you Never Enough! Good to see a few of you guys out there too! It was kind of a "let's just go to the lake instead of work" type of morning and there we go! WELL worth it to drive down to Cottonwood - still the same great ramp!

I used less fuel than that running from the davis dam up to hoover and back...
of course as you saw, I babied it all the way up and back. Don't think I broke 45 maybe 50 all day ;)

Try backing off the sticks a little bit! :Laugh_at: I know that thing is a pig but if you keep your rpm's down around 3500 or so, you will see a big decrease in fuel consumption. :thumb:

Gary (Trouble Maker) likes to cruise 80 so we were burning it as fast as we could. Fun day though, great Jello shots Kim but 40 was not enough. we need to bring more next time.:drinkers::boobies:

yeah, a few miles from Cottonwood he came and "relieved" me ...... that was very nice of him. I felt bad letting him take over, but that was a lot of weight for me to be pullin' especially after my drive was acting up earlier.
The DCB seized his drive....
NICE pics!!! i've never made that run with the daytona. did you guys have to stop for fuel or were you able to make the run without stopping? if it's roughly 100 miles round trip from cottonwood i'd DEFINITELY be stopping. i guess i'll find out in about 9 days :)

James--I made it from katherines, actually the davis dam up to hoover and back to the davis dam, then back to katherines on just over 1/2 tank...
MOST of the trip at 90+
I think you would make it EASILY from Cottonwood and back...

Hence my idea in a different post to share a ride for the Regatta. I have room for another 10 and will easily burn about 100 gallon anyway...:insane:

:eek3::eek3: not a bad cruising speed :thumb: the only other time we've done this trip was the boat duckbutter has now and know we had to fuel up that time. the daytona holds 70 gallons so hopefully that will be enough.
i can tell you we WON'T be doing the trip at 90mph :D:D
