OK, for the BETA event, we're going to stay in Laughlin. How long does it take to tow up to Cottonwood to launch?

Cool, we'll have to drag Donnies ass out of bed bitchin' about how early we have to leave, but it'll be worth it for that early morning run!

I think we can accomplish that with Donnie, it's Bill that will be just about impossible to head out that early! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif This trip is getting closer and closer, bring it on!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Why don't you launch at Katherine's instead and boat up? It's only like twenty miles on the water.

That's a good idea, unless the wind is blowing! If it's calm, i'd boat it.
Boating = 25 min. (doing 50mph.)
Driving = 45 min. (doing 70mph.)

The ride from Katherines to Cottonwood would not be bad, usually if the winds come up it is in the adternoon. So the drive back is what kills you at the end f the day, unless your camping on the beach Saturday night.

Don't launch at Katherine Landing unless you want to get hammered in the large basin below Cottonwood in the afternoon drive back to the marina. Been there many times and that basin is only good in the morning on off weekends and weekdays with NO wind. Otherwise, you need a very big boat to not get your kidneys bounced around pretty severely! Those of you who went to the Regatta last year remember the LITTLE basin above Cottonwood - the large basin, below, is much worse!

Yeah, we thought of Cottonwood for two reasons. One, I don't want to have to deal with the possibilty of that bowl in the afternoon being crazy. I'd rather drive the 50 minutes in the comfort of my truck http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*Second, I run straight av-gas, I don't want to be worried about having enough fuel to make it back after the trip from Katherines Landing and tear assing around all day!!! I'll launch at Cottonwood with 72 gallons of 100LL and go for it without worry!
Brad, I doubt you'll see Bill there, he didn't seem to thrilled about taking his boat out Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Â*Which really surprises me, giving we're staying in Laughlin!
