What is Willow Beach like. Is it a good place to launch from. It looks like the scenery would great. How to the water below the dam? Does the river run fast?

I have not put in there, usally Cottenwood, and cruised up there. It looks like a nice place not crowed either. The water is cooler below the dam.

Yes . Nice ramp. The water is COLD and it does run swift. There are some nice beaches but small if I remember correctly. It took us about 20 minutes to reach the dam.Actually you can't see the dam from the boey line but Â*huge outlet pipes are visable. The water seemed fine depth wise http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Willow is killer. Very cold water, and lower elevation; this makes the boat run great. Excellent scenery and always clean. Takes about 40 minutes from Henderson, roughly.
Easily in my top 3 places to boat.

Where are your other (TWO) favorite places to boat?
you might try sending a pm to stv keith, he boats there a bunch. in fact he was supposed to be going there this weekend. i've only been on mohave one time and that was for last years regatta. i've never put in there, but it looked like a nice place. the scenery up there is awesome. we were able to get close enough to the dam to get excellent pics of it. they may have changed how close you can get to it since 9-11 though. the water at the bottom of the dam is FREEZING http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif from what i'm told it's somewhere around 38 degrees. the water is very clear but moves pretty quickly.

Basically, all of the above. The water is COLD, the ramp is nice, and fuel is about as cheap as you'll find down there. Even cheaper at their pump OFF the water.
It's about 13 miles from the dam on the AZ side by land, about 10 miles back to the dam by water. I've never seen more than a ripple up there. Going South, you have about 19 miles of usually very nice water until you get to Owl Cove. Turn that corner toward Cottonwood is where the water starts getting rougher if the wind is up.
I've not been farther South than Cottonwood on Mojave due to generally large swells. I haven't been out in the colder months down there yet though, so today will tell the tale. I have been down to Katherines Landing at the other end of Mojave and the weekend I went was "big water". We ended up pulling out and going down to Park Moabi in Havasu.

all agreed, nice ramp, very scenic, cold water. Go up to the dam and jump in to take a leak - you won't be able too http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif I tried http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

Upper lake Powell is great and Lake Mead. LM is in there just because I have been going for so long and I know all the little hiding spots.
I also dig the river between the sandbar to Topoc. Plenty of cool things to see.
