I have both. I want mine, but after next weekend, the Scarab will be taking a few weeks off and you can try them out if you want.
you run bravo props on your omc's?

Yeah. They are flo-torq hubs though. As long as you have a Merc insert for the hub, you're good.

Why is the boat going down Keith? Something wrong?

Heh, just can't afford to run it so much. $450 per fill up, and it seems like that's a full weekends worth. Went to Havi for 3 days with the STV last weekend, back to Havi for 3 days this weekend...I'm gonna be BROKE! :)

I'd love a $450 fill up. Topped off the tanks on Sunday, $700.

Hey James, I know I have a Mirage 23, A High Five 25 and a Bravo I 4 blade that I think is a 24. Your welcome to test drive any of them you want. Let me know if you want to try any or all of them out. I like the high five 25.
will any of those fit the xz drive?

Well, my insurance is expensive, but my fuel costs are no where near that high... I average around $100 per day...

I'm not sure about the High Five James, I have a Bravo I and that one has a pressed in hub. The other props have the flo-torque hubs though. So if you have a flo-torque you could switch them out if needed. Let me I can meet up with you and you can check them out and see if any work for you.

Just FYI, the Bravo's are all originally even pitch, 22,24,26,28,etc. Now, if you had a prop guy bend on one, that can be a different story. :)

Yea your right Keith, My 23P is a 3 blade Mirage and the Bravo I is a 4 blade 24P.
i would be interested in trying the 24p. i'm probably going to start needing to pull my kid around on a tube this year and my ride isn't exactly a dragster the way it's set up now. i may even look at doing a set up hydraulic trim tabs.
I have a 27P Bravo that originally began as a 26P. It has a little work. ;)
is that what you run all the time? what's the general opinion on labbing props? do you generally buy a smaller prop to go bigger or a bigger prop to go smaller or does it really matter?? i guess as long as it gets you to the targer rpm it wouldn't make any difference correct??

Kevin has told me that it's better to start bigger and take some out (if you have to change pitch) rather than add some in.
Labbing refers to thinning the blades and balancing/blueprinting them...making sure they are all the same. This usually helps some with top speed as it's easier for the thinner blades to go through the water. Get the pitch right first, then lab last if that's what you're going to do.

I will never lab a prop cuz I can't seem to keep my prop out of the rocks! :crying: Hit a rock bar this past weekend....small one but still dinged the prop! :Laugh_at: What's another $150 on top of gas prices these days anyway? :dunno:
BTW - I wasn't driving when it got dinged! :D I now have an official DD to drive the boat for me as long as I am in it! :jump:
Rude,
I run a stock 26P bravo now because the cruising speed is better along with the hole shot. It depends if you want to make some high speed passes. If you plan on that then get is labbed and tweak it a little. That is why I labbed my 26, took some cup out, made it a 27 and reduced the overall diameter. Just in case I wanted to make some speed passes. With the family in I just cruise and use the stocker. If it is just the wife and I, I will throw on the bigger prop and make some runs. Difference I see is about 5 mph and that is conservative. Stock bravos are really nice props though.
you get a 5 mph jump from the labbed prop?!!!! i LIKE that!! once i try a few more props i'll probably end up labbing one of them for peak performance. i borrowed a prop from outcole'd a long time ago and never took the time to compare the two props back to back and take notes to see what the differences were. i won't make that mistake this time around.
No! I get 5 mph from from a prop that is much larger and labbed.

I have heard that if you can spin a 26" standard prop you should be able to spin a labed 28" prop of the same make.
Is this true or reasonable?
Thanks still new to the prop thing

Talking about gas - we blew through $300 this weekend in a day and a half on the lake - did about 140 miles though, guess that's not too bad considering lots of stuff and people on the boat :)

that's a lot of dough for one weekend. i can't imagine you guys with twins (engines that is). i was going to say it looks like it will be an expensive summer for me but it may not be too bad if i keep leaving my boat on the trailer :thumb:

Kim, don't spend any money on those 26's...I can't even turn 26's on my boat and I'm way higher and lighter than you. I'm guessing 22's for you, especially with stock porting.
got the pm.....SOLD SOLD SOLD!!
