Rude,
I called our Post office here and this is what I got. If is over 70 lbs they will not take it at all. The Cali address thing works like this. We have PSCss That stands for Postal Service Center and the Zip is here. All APOs coming to PACAF go to San Fran then the military takes over from there. If there is room on a the plane or ship, the mail goes on as well. For anything over 70 Lbs get the physical address from the individual and they can do that. If is Sasebo Japan then he will have to ask his Navy PO about his local address. More than likely FED EX will deliver right to the gate and he can pick it up. OR, if he has a supply section, get the commercial address from them. If he is not Military, then the Japanse Fed Ex will deliver right to their door. The Japanese work hard to do things right, so I am sure your package will get where it needs to go. Dont agree to pay shipping as it aint cheap. Usually more that the item especially if is goes express or something like that. If you have the ability to break it up and send it thru the USPS, that would be your best bet. If you cant, then FED EX is the way to go. Check our thier website and it gives you more info. The economy for 70 lbs is going be about 350+ bucks!!
1121 W Cheyenne Ave North Las Vegas, NV 89030 is one close to you that does international. They didnt have a phone number.

Hope this helps!!

The guy is also going to pay customs charges if it goes FedEx... If it's over 70# it will have to go thru a bonded warehouse in Japan and will incure additional charges. Made the mistake 1 time sending something USP to Germany, the customs charge was $400, shipping $200 on a $100 item, would never do it again.

total weight for the shipment would be 480lbs. if i were to break up the shipment, each item would be about 60lbs each. i didn't figure customs would get involved since the military would be shipping their own stuff. it would be going from their base in CA to their base in japan. i assumed once it was dropped off at the facility in california that my obligation for freight costs would be over. right?????

Get an estimate for the shipping. We pay thru the nose all the time!
