I'm working on the website tonight, adding information to better comunicate the design of the event. There is an early opportunity exclusively for the LVHB Crew.

Please check out the "Introduction" and "Activity" pages of the website. You will notice an "Invitation Treasure Hunt / Poker Run", there are twelve time spots being made available for the high horse boats, you guys driving wings with props attached, giving you a "specific class" to compete in, against each other. This will occur early in the morning, hopefully with glass conditions, cool air, and little or no spectators in the way.

I'm making the twelve spots available to the crew from LVHB first.

Ladies and Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES!!

Let me know if you want one of the spots, there may be additional costs above and beyond the normal Treasure Hunt.

The nice thing about this class, you can let your sweetheart sleep in, make the run and then pick her up before breakfast! Just don't stack your boat up on the rocks..... that could ruin breakfast. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

So boats that top out at 62ish aren't allowed to do the early one huh? That's a better time to do it.

Because of that. I guess it doesn't really matter if I run at 7 or if I run at 8, usually if the wind is going to blow that day, it starts around 10 when it heats up.

Also KC, I noticed you put down the 20th as the 2nd SoCal design meeting. You know that's a Monday I would assume? Which is fine I guess.

something tells me that RL is just setting the stage, so that he does not get murdered for using the shirt to clean his bright pink truck! or is it white....

My trip to the lake yesterday went very well! I covered 95 miles, burned 46 gallons of fuel, made it up to Hoover - and found some spectacular coves in the process. The every changing water levels and conditions really make the job of setting up the course a bear! Beaches that were there four weeks ago are now completly gone, but now some of the smaller coves are very large and very shallow. Needles to say, the course will be setup on the Thursday before the event so that we can maximize the conditions at that time.

For the early morning course, the first stop will probably be just south of Cottonwood with all remaining stops to the North. This will give spactators a chance to see and hear the early morning boats as they fly past Cottonwood every five minutes between 7:00Am and 8:00AM.

Additionally, I'm looking into ways to make more water stops to reduce the dependancy upon good and available beaches for the card stops.

The early morning course, invitation only session, "long course", is looking like 36 miles with all marked stops:
Marker 22, Cottonwood Cove, North
Marker 43, end of water skiing sign, then South
Marker 35, power lines area, event site at LVHB Beach II

The "short course" is looking like 10 miles with five marked stops and two unmarked.

The objective of both courses will be to get you off of the "big water" and into narrower parts before having to make the card stops.

The early morning participants will be able to run both courses without returning back to Cottonwood Cove in between, unless you need fuel, more consumables, or additional people.

So..... if you did the "invitation only" early morning long course.... your looking at 36 miles. Fuel would then be located 20 miles North at Willow, or 12 miles South at Cottonwood.

Then add on an additional run of the "short course", not WOT, you are looking at adding a loop of about twelve miles to take you through the "short course" and return you back to the event site.

Now we have something for everyone......
Long Course will be for the early morning session only. Short Course for the family fun machines..... or a combination of both for those with deep pockets.

All subject to change based upon water levels and conditions.

Enjoy, KC

KC, i'm not sure what type of response you've had on the early run but if you have any spots left would it be possible to reserve one? i'm not definite on making that run. i want to, but i'm still working on the mrs. as far as getting there that early in the a.m. if i read your post right, there is enough time between the two runs that i could do both?http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif? i don't know if i would need to fuel up or not but i would definitely need time to pick up additional passengers from cottonwood.

rude,
No problem, the early run will be long and fast, meaning the card stops will be without significant puzzles. The course will take you North of Cottonwood by 20 miles, u-turn, then aboout 12 miles South to the event cove. There should be plenty of time to return to Cottonwood for fuel, consumables, and people - allowing enough time to run the short course with the kids.

As we get closer I'll need some better information on your boats, such as top speed so that we can sequence and stagger the start times.

riverlife will probably lead the pack since ha has the most colorful boat...
