Now I don't know a lot about these Chevy motors, other than how to blow them up, but I don't think this is a good sign.

Side of block at #3. Looked in the plug hole and could see a hole in the top of the piston, and the head of the valve floating around in there.

You think thats what that is? As far as I know it has never had any patch job done on it there before. Thats what the kid that helped me pull it out said too, but I don't think it is. As long as the guy is going to build it for free, yeah I think I'll let him have another shot at it. If not we will be talking for sure.

A good blueprinted pump can put over 100 PSI to the motor. Have to be real careful on how to plumb them. A JB welded block will be blown out. Dont want more than 15 PSI in there while running.


Brandon. You sure you want this guy to do it? I guess a third is a charm. At least he is learning. I would baby sit the hell out of him.

Just remember you get what you pay for...

Surely he's not paying for new valves, gaskets, etc...Head gaskets are $50 a piece...you've gotta be coming out of pocket for at least some of this....

Can't make Mojave... Have kids leaving town on Sunday and Monday. I'll be home the rest of the time. I'll be at the airport from about 1030 till 1300 on Sunday. The 454 block is ready to go for you, come get it. The 502 blocks are at the machine shop and won't be ready for several weeks.
