So, how do you get to Lake Mead without going through any construction? Is it possible?

I have big problems with towing a 100K toy down a gravel road... The idiots in charge of that project should be shot...just my 2 cents worth. The world be such a better place if hot boaters were in charge of everything, or at least our local lakes and road construction projects... http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

Gary, I can't help you with the Lake Mead Marina deal, but if you take the North Lake Mead I think it's the Blvd. one you will only have minimal dirt. You will have a few feet at the intersection with North Shore Rd. then I think there was one small turn out around another small project this wwill get you to Callville. Kurt and I went up through the Valley of Fire last week and the road was fine a little twisty and a little longer but no dirt.

From the NPS site. Â*It shows all constructon being on Northshore Rd. Â*which is the one that takes you to Callville and Echo. Â*So you may be OK going to LM Marina.

at Lake Mead National Recreation Area

Additional signs have been installed by the Contractor at the entrance to the Park on Lake Mead Drive, Lake Mead Boulevard and Lakshore Drive. These signs give advance notice of the construction work ahead and to expect dellays and loose gravel.

Northshore Road (MP 1 thru 4)/Lake Mead Blvd

Work continues placing the cement treated base course (this requires staying off the road for 24 hours after being placed) which requires one way traffic with a pilot car. Fifteen minute delays should be expected while this and asphalt paving work is underway. Asphalt has been placed on one lane of Lake Mead Boulevard and approximately two miles of one lane of Northshore road. Additional asphalt paving is scheduled for this and next week. Contractor estimates it will be 5 to 6 weeks before this section of road is asphalt paved and completed.

Boxcar Wash Box Culvert (Northshore Road MP 10)

Box culvert is in place and Contractor is forming up the concrete wingwalls and aprons. Contractor estimates this work will be complete in 1 to 2 weeks with the detour removed and normal traffic along Northshore Road.

Northshore Road (MP 21 thru 27)

Contractor plans on starting to install drainage structures in about two weeks. As the Lake Mead Blvd work nears completion he will be phasing his crews to this area. Contractor estimates this work will be asphalt paved and completed in November of this year.[/QUOTE]<span id='postcolor'>

When we were there a couple weeks ago, they were doing construction just south of Lake Mead Pkwy, I think it was only for a mile or so towards LVM.

I ended up just going through Henderson. The drive was bit longer, but I was on the lake is about the same amount of time...I was kind of surprised, I might take that route more often....
