Long story... My father in law (great guy at 77 y.o.) fighting prostrate cancer and may have spread. Anyway, while he was working at his house, he has a small fall. Couple weeks later he has some minor knee surgery on his right leg. A couple of days later, he develops a blood clot(s). One clot goes through the heart and he his put on a blood thinner (Cumaden sp). Another 2 days and one foot turning red, next day both feet are real red, the next day both feet are purple and last Tuesday night, they are both black. Dr. sezs he had a "reaction" to the medication and body now has toxins. Kidney starting to fail. Dr. states he has to remove both feet or he will be dead in 3-4 days. W.T.F. Yesterday afternoon they took both feet right at the knees. Still can't believe this. Other than that he's still "in and out", I haven't seen him yet, still haven't got enough courage to see him. When he's doing better, I'll see him on Sat. The wife is handling the visiting for me. Anyway, just wanted to share! Thanks!!!! Yeah Steve, I was sorry to hear about this tonight. Hope the guy makes it through and puts in another good 20 or so. Sounds like a tough guy, he'll do fine. If he is a reader have hime take a look at Alex Zanardi: My Sweetest Victory. One of the happiest guys I've ever seen in the world. Dominant Champ Car driver, on top of the world goes over to F1 with a team that was less that the best at the time and got his hat handed to him. Still just a happy go lucky guy, comes back to Champ Car and is involved in a major accident, both legs were gone at the scene, nearly blead out right there on the track. Couple of years later he's back at the same track to finish the 13 laps of the race with his prosthetic legs running times that would have put him on pole fo rthe race that year. Currently running and winning in Sports cars in Itally. The guy is just as happy as ever, real inspiration. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/beerchug.gif
