Suggestion from a n00b

Hey All, my name is Arthur.

I'm the president of a local Vegas Mustang car club (SNMA), that Rob is a part of (red_n_vegas).

He and I were talking about 2 months ago about this and I thought it was a good idea with the nice time of year coming up.

What I want to setup if you guys would be interested and willing is a day on the lake/bbq with both clubs. Of course we'd bring the Mustangs, and you'd bring the watercraft. And all have a good time and some food, and meet some new people.

I'm actually very anxious to do it, as I've never been on any kind of boat before. LMK your thoughts on this, and what your schedule looks like.

The only problem I see with this is that there is not a good place to drive to and be able to hangout. Â*There are not any good beaches that you can drive a mustang to. Â*I know what you are talking about, I did the same with a camero club back in Texas, but there was a huge parking lot only a few feet from the beach. Â*We took over the lot with cameros and the boats were on the beach. Â*It was a great time, just not sure where we could pull it off here. Â*If someone figures something out I would be interested. Â*Any excuse to go to the lake

Yeah that does sound like a great idea, but like Keith said there aren't many areas where the parking is anywhere close to the water. About the only place that has a place like that would be Havasu, whats it called Rotory beach or something? By the way do we get extra points if we bring bot the 'Stang and the boat? Hmm... I wasnt aware of that. Shows how much I know about the water/beaches around here.

A cruise to havasu could work, if theres a place there for it.

Rotary Park in Lake Havasu is a great place for a gathering of vehicles and vessels. The parking lots is on the beach, there are covered picnic tables, bathrooms, the boats can pull up on the sand. Very kid friendly. Not certain about pet rules. No drinking in the park. I'll collect more information and a few pics this weekend.

There is a beach on Lake Mohave, but you need a 4x4, the road is not low-profile tire friendly.

Rotary park sounds like it might be the place then.

I was thinking more like willow ..the water is a little cold but they have a nice beach and all ..the only thing I am not sure about is the beaching of our boats ..the zoo works also..not sure how to get the stang and boat in the same place

Don't you have to finish your boat before you can put it in the water? Are you doing the 5 gallon buckets?

You could do this at Boulder beach at Lake Mead. All you would have to do is call the NPS people that run it and get a permit. Not expensive. I looked at doing this once. Beach isnt the best, but you can beach there and the cars could be right there as well. I have seen some of these mustangs from this club.
