He goes in for surgery tomorrow. They won't know until they open him up how bad it is. He's still pretty young (62), so I think it will all be good.

Best Wishes Dave.... My mom was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in 1993. She went in for the surgery and did the radiation therapy. She has been clean ever since. Positive mental attitude is probably the most important key to a full recovery!

Sorry to hear about this Dave. Hang in there. Your family will be in our prayers.
Sorry to hear man. My entire family has been riddled with cancer throughout the years and I can honestly say that the mental battle is the toughest. Keep you Dad in good spirits and make sure he remains active and eats well.
PM me if you like and I can give you some good advice regarding the battle. FYI, my family and I always do the relay for life every year. There are plenty of cancer survivors there he can see and chat with. Those are the best folks to talk to. Very positive event.

Thanks again everybody for all the nice words.
Just to update: His surgery went very well. I talked to him today and he seems in really good spirits. The doctors said that they don't think the cancer had a chance to spread yet. This opinion was based only on visual inspection. The biopsy on the anoids(sp.), will not be back until Friday. So far so good though. Again, can't thank you guys enough for all the kind words and support. I let him know that there is alot of good mojo being sent his way.

My dad is out of the hospital. Everything has gone very well so far. He only had to stay there for a week. Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Â*As of right now, it looks like they were able to get it all. No kemo(sp) for right now. Really kind of stops you in your tracks when you realize how fragile life can be. Thanks again for all your support.
