View Full Version : Anyone go out today?
Phoenix was not that warm today so I know that many of you guys did not make the trip to the lake today. That sucks but it makes me feel a little bit better about being away this week! Did anyone make it out today? I read the post on the Fountain..that really sucks! That damn lake is sooo dangerous sometimes. A boat that size you would think could take some heat but you never know.

I never would have thought a boat that big would throw driver and passenger out, but it did. Be careful!
We didn't make it out today because it was a bit windy up by us, and the way the wind has been lately, I didn't want to go out. We're headed out tomorrow weather provided http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I went out that weekend. It was warm while sitting, but a bit cool while cruising. They lake does not seem as bad as I have been hearing.

What up THOR, welcome aboard! What kind of boat do you have?
D'
Yo,
I have a 1992, 24', Eliminator Edge. 454 Mag. Not bad for an old boat.
I have a question. Sometimes I get stuck in LA for quite a while with work. So, what is the best way to and from Havasu from Orange County? I currently have a house in Las Vegas.

Eh THOR, I think this is a question for Riverlife as I haven't been to Havasu yet. Yo J, you there.

I hate to say it because of the weekend traffic, but the 15 to the 40 is the fastest. You could go the back way but the roads aren't great and it's single lane.
Welcome aboard thor!
Thor,
the traffic has been a pain in the @$# on the 40. You might take the 10 freeway to Desert Center. Take a left and head to Parker. Cross the River at Parker and keep going to Havasu. It's about the same mileage but without all of the road construction. Hope that helps.

I got here too late....... as usual. I think if I could add one thing to this, use LM1's advise if you will travel at non-busy times of the day, but use omega1's advise if you will go during busy traffic times. I like the 40 better (and it's usually fine going) but coming home is a bitch!! 8 hours a couple of weeks ago, and 9 for my buddy last weekend!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Not to confuse you, but the 40 to... and the 10 from may be good!
$$
I am confused easily, but that helps. Where does desert center hit the 10?
It's about an hour past Indio. There is a good sized hill you have to climb (Cherico Summit) but the rest of the way is fairly smooth. I agree with Riverlife, if I'm not traveling at peak times, I prefer the 40.

I don't know if this is still true, but I heard it was really hard to cross the Parker dam with a trailer because of the cement barriers - I would check that before you go.
You have to cross the river at Parker, not the Dam. They are apparently not allowing boats across the dam since September 11th. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Alright I'm back. Nice weekend. Good and warm, but that f**king wind... the days toyed with me:
Th. - glassy
Fri. - windy
Sat. - glassy
Sun. - windy
But, we got some quality time on the water, and Supercross was cool Sat. night. RC smoked everyone, dammit! And I kept missing my new neighbors. The only time I saw them was at night pulling back into the marina, but there boats are sweet, this time they also brought a brand new 30' Sea Rey! I don't like those type of boats usually, but it was awesome. I kept looking for P. Diddy to be driving that thing http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Till our next adventure..........
