I know... it's been a long time since I last posted. Â*I'm still here!!!

With all the planning going on this time of year... and since Wicky has to plan a 1000 mile trip from Idaho... Â*Boatmaster, Nor-Cal & Tunnel T have to drive down from Northern California. Â*I thought we should plan a little in advance for BBSP V this Spring.

I was thinking about the weekend of April 19th and April 20th 2003 at Speed Alley in Lake Havasu. Â*That way we could still use the proverbial 4-20 date again this year!!!

We had a great trunout last year. Â*Wicky and his sushi talents made it a memorable event. Â*

Here is a pic from last years event:
http://www.taycoeng.com/images/boatmaster2.jpg

So let's get a head count going guys and post-up if you think you are going. Â*I know it's almost six months away, but we need this to be the first thing to put on your 2003 calendars.

BBSP=Big Block Spanking Party 5 Â*Big Blocks (Car Motor Boats) vs. Outboards (Weed Wacker/NOS Powered Fishing Motor Boats)

It's all in fun and beer stories.

I've got a good response over on Hot Boat and Havasu Barney. Would love to have the LV Hot Boat crowd join in the festivities. You don't need to race... just join in the fun!!!

I'll be there. Plan to bring the weedwacker as well, but it's a lake boat (read: slow).

I would like too, but can't promise - and we DEFINITELY still need to have the martini bud!

so what is the penalty for showing up to this clamp-on fest with a big block? will i be forced to do shots of 2-stroke oil until i say "OUTBOARDS RULE"? even though i drive a BB now, i still love the sound of a high strung o/b. i can't make any promises but i'd love to go!

Rude235,

Clamp-on, Stap-on, Weedwacker, Big Block, Small Block... heck one guy showed up in a little fishing boat last year. Everyone is welcome to come out and put a face with a screen name and share stories, beer and have fun. Whether you race or party on the beach with us... it's all fun. We have a great bunch of people that come to this event.

Check out the links above and read for yourself. The sound of Uncle Tony's high performance nitrous high revving Merc is worth the trip. If he takes you for a ride... watch out when he hits that button!!!

can you recommend a place to stay down there? i got a lot of names from another post for the parade of lights from several other people that know the area. the problem is that i've never stayed in havasu and don't have any phone numbers to do any calling. if you could recommend one or two places that are reasonable i'd probably just go with that (possibly for the parade of lights and BBSP).

these are the places that have recommended so far, Ramada Inn, Island Inn, and Nautical Estates. I'm pretty much trying to stay away from the Nautical Inn.

Hi All,

LM1...
The Grey Goose is on ice as I write this... do you like it shaken and not stirred or what. Â*Sounds like a James Bond movie quote.

Rude235...
Here are a few places that I can recommend.

Havasu Hidden Palms Â*928-855-7144
A great little place that was once an apartment complex. Â*Beautifully converted and is now a nice little hotel. Â*Nice clean one and two bedroom suite/units and the owners are super nice. Â*Reasonable winter rates for BBSP V. Â*Not a big party place either. Â*The only drawback is that they only have a dirt parking lot to park your truck and boat in, so be sure to bring your boat cover. Â*Also near downtown and not on the water.
Here is their Link:
http://www.hiddenpalms.com

Queens Bay Rentals 888-677-5577
Nice views of the water and bridge. Â*Paved parking lot with good trailer and truck parking. Â*Kind of on the pricey side but you are paying for the view and walking distance to the famous Havasu channel.
Here is their Link:

London Bridge Resort 800-624-7939
Same description as the Queens Bay but you can also get a boat slip with your room!!! Â*Unfortunately Kokomo's will still be closed for the winter. Â*Still pricey.
Here is their Link:

The Holiday Inn. 888-428-2465
A lot of people stay here. Â*Nice views of the water and good parking. Â*Reasonable rates. Â*Kind of an old place. Â*Needs a facelift/remodel.

If you are comming in an RV
Crazyhorse Campground is the place. (928) 855-4033
Not a bad place. Â*Has their own Marina and launch ramp too.

I hope this helps.

Hey LM1

I suggested to Todd from Jokers Wild Promotions that if BBSP V gets really big... We might see if we could do "Roast"/Awards dinner type thing at the Nautical Inn. It would be fun to "Roast" some of the board members!!!

That would be fun. I met todd for the first time at the RRX run, cool guy. I can think of a few people to roast http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Back to the top again so that the thread doesn't get lost.

I will create a new thread for the Offical BBSP V Calendar of Events and T-Shirt purchase information next week.
