Ok,, here's the deal... We are looking at adding to our boating arsenal,, and need some info and input,,, Â*Besides TnB's beer induced Nordic Mantra...

It's a 35 Fountain Lightning with 600SC's and MaxForce drives,,, Any input on pros and cons would be helpful...

Negatives: hole in your bank account and hideous insurance costs.

They can bring it out for you, Jet A available at Boulder airport. Depending on how much you drive it might be cheaper with maintenance than old school pumpers...

A 35' Fountain is really only a 30'-31' boat (remove the beak and swim platform). Low head room in the cabin, the SC engines wil have to be gone through every 75-100 hours. Insurance won't be that bad, but the cost of gold necklaces will put you in the poor house.

You can run diesel in turbines...

The 35 Fountain is a sweet boat, good friend of mine had a 1998 35 lightning. He had Teague Marine do the rigging, I know he had blowers and the number 6 drives. it would hit 100 no problem. The boat hauled ass and it was so damn smooth and solid. I thought it was one of the best looking boats on the lake.
He ended up selling it back in 2002 and I wanted to buy it, just could not afford it, he wanted like $110k for it.
If you like the Fountain, get it, you will not be dissapointed.

never enough
