Thinking of going out of echo and staying in the upper basin to avoid the crowds. It usualy does not get as busy up on that end of the lake. There are some nice big coves between echo and overton to hang out in. Any body in?http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/drinkers.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/drinkers.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/beerchug.gif

we are planning on being out that weekend also but don't know what days yet. we are aslo thinking of camping that weekend. i wouldn't mind going out of echo just to avoid johnny law with the DB meter. i'm sure we'd end up on that end of the lake anyway. considering checking out big sandy. we haven't been there in over a year.

Probably Sun and Mon for us. Maybe camp out on Sun night at LVHB beach ... never been to Big Sandy, only as far as the Temple Bar marina ... if anyone goes, we're up for a cruise up there.

I'll be up at Mead this weekend for the Labor Day Holiday. Most likely launch at Overton again. Crowds were low on the 4th of July weekend, so I am hoping for the same.

Ok guys I talked to a guy who boats the upper basin all the time and he says the best coves are on the east side of the lake between echo and overton. Across from stewarts point and south . Echo is marked in red along with an arrow up to the area I am talking about. If this sounds like a good place I say we try to meet over there. If anyone else knows of a good place up there let me know. This is just an idea. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm staying VERY CLEAR away from the area that I bent my skeg last time... http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumb.gif After a lot of thought on the subject, I think I hit a chain(or Steel Cable) that was tied to something that was TOO SHORT to allow it to float, but just long enough to get caught between my skeg and my prop...

It was when I was on the South side of the dock/launch ramp when I was parking the boat to leave it docked for the night. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/puke.gif

I'd say come on up, but I don't think you've hit Mead in a while.. Maybe a change in scenery for a weekend would be good?

We'll be out all weekend. Sat @ big sandy w/ a huge group. Come on up! sunday is still up in the air. wishing well at some point. Long beach and mid point at somepoint as well. Probably sunday. Monday, Swallow cove @ the south end if we can get a spot. You have to go early as it fills up and we like the island, so space is limited

I am not familiar with the coves on the upper basin we were supposed to try to meet up with a friend of ours he is supposed to be in a cove on the east side across from middle point. so we are going to target that area. I do have a radio so when you get to the area just hail ANCHORMAN I will try and monitor Ch16 on the afternoon on friday. We would love to hang out again so lets try and meet up. Also if cellphones work there you could try and call me but that is unlikely.

I'll be with a group staying/launching at Echo. Saturday we're heading upstream as far as we can get. Probably stop to check out Sandy Pt (Big Sandy?) as I've never been there and it sounds like there will be some LVHB folks around. Sunday we'll probably checkout the upper end of Overton. Any good ski spots or is it all pretty rough most of the time?

uh oh things look like they might be falling apart we may end up at hablin instead of on the upper basin due to indecisive friends LOL I will keep you posted. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smashfreak.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/up_yours.gif

Where is hablin? I'll most likely end up somewhere between Overton and Echo, as I'll be launching out of Overton

In my experience, it just depends. Sometimes it's really rough, but other times not too bad. Is Big Sandy the same beach we were at 2 years ago(Coley beach?)? Anyone have the GPS points?

North end is usually calm, and you can ski there, rough water is never a problem for me http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Past the narrows, turn left and in the coves are great ski spots ... water is almost always calm, even when the middle of the lake gets churned up http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumb.gif

Can't wait for Sun and Mon to roll around ...
