I'm headed to Lake Mohave on Oct 18, 19 and 20 - in search of a cove to cover the following wish list:
- large enough for more than one boat (think many)
- shallow enough to get out of the boat and move around
- deep enough to not destroy props
- beach for kids to play, dog friendly also
- Southern end of Lake Mojave

Searching for a nautical chart of Lake Mohave.... going to West Marine tonight.

have boat, have extra batteries for the GPS

Things I could use your help with....

- the usuals, Beer... Fuel... Food... http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
- ideas on locations
- very large tape measure or measuring device
- projected flow levels for Lake Mohave (spring timeframe)
- another boat to run with incase something goes wrong with a boat

Yes, this will build up to something in the future.

Give me a shout,
KC

kc - I don't know of any "sandbar" type areas in that part (or any part of Mojave for that matter), but launching at Katherine, hang a left out of the buoys, then another left. Â*There is an island and a TON of very nice wrapping coves, lots of sand. Â*That's for if you want to get out and walk around. Â*If you want to tie up and anchor together, going toward the dam on the right are some very nice inlets that go pretty far back and can hold quite a few boats, or to the left of the dam is a nice wide open inlet behind no wake buoys. Â*This time of year, you can have Gasoline Alley all to yourself too. Â*Hang a right out of the buoys and go to the telephone wires stretching across the lake, it's an inlet on the right that is always a popular place to hang in, and race in front of!
Also, check out this site (http://www.coloradoriverinfo.com/waterflowreports) for water flow/ levels, and this (http://www.riverlakes.com) I believe has some maps if our new sponsor West Marine Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Â* didn't have any. Â* I think there is a certain boating web site that has some for sale too http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Good luck, hope some of this helped........... and keep us posted, as I'm sure you will!

Good looking stuff KC. I wish I could be out there. I think you found at least one of the places I was talking about (Haystack Cove I believe, I never knew the name of it).
Whatever you're planning, I want to be invited http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Just got home from Mohave, water is still warm and deep. Weather wasn't to bad, kinda windy but the chop was low.

I must have lost track of my dates, days, weekends.... and this thread.

Due to chaos on the elderly family side things have been all over the map for me.

I hope to be near the river this weekend, I hope to be in Cottonwood Cove this weekend... as it stands I might just curl up on the couch so I can get some rest this weekend...
