Time to upgrade, we'll keep the Velocity to play with, but the wife wants something bigger...

35' Cigarette Cafe Racer with new twin 502's.

Are you pullin our leg?http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif I would go with the baja if that Cig only has half a cabin like usual.

Better gut the Velocity to use as a gas trailer.

03-13-2005, 05:55 PM
Nope, the Cafe is 35' with full cabin, electric head, 75+ mph, etc. The Baja is the same price 42', 9000 BTU ac/heat, 6.5k gen, stove fridge, only 65mph. New surveys on both.

With the full cabin factor out, that 42X3 is gonna be a bitch to pull around on the trailer.

03-13-2005, 06:08 PM
10K for the 42'. That's going to max out the Excursion. The plan is to dry dock it at Mead until we move down to the South. The 35' is my choice, but Vickie & kids have the final say. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smlove2.gif

I gotta agree w/Shane there....

I'd personally have a Cig over a Baja every day of the week http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumb.gif

Got a bunch more info on the Cig. Â*Kevlar construction, was at the Cigarette factory for new interior, completely gutted and everything checked by them for any stringer and transom rot/damage. Â*Surveyed in December with survey faxed to me this morning. Â*Engine hours 18 hours on new complete Merc motors, not long block w/warrenty. Â*TRS's rebuilt by TNT, completely rebuilt B&W Velvet trans with HD clutches. New Livorsi guages.

Insurance is now the issue... The cheapest price is $1600/yr for stated replacment value & full coverage. Seems alot of companies say the boat max speed is 88-93mph, yea right... I told one guy, I'd take him out and if it didn't go that fast that he'd pay the first years premium, he said he didn't want to find out... Whimp

Its a no brainer GET THE CIGARETTE! I've driven and worked on both models. The cigarette drives and handles much better and safer. I have a friend that had the 44 baja with triple 500s and it was always in the shop. It was $1500 just to transport it to the shop and back. He sold it and bought a 36 cigarette gladiator twin 750 zuls. Much better boat at the same price. Take a look at the stringers on both boats. The stingers in the cigarette are at least twice the size as the baja. The baja is still a good boat just not in the same class. My 2 cents http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif RD
