I wonder how "bullit proof" the thing is? People already have problems with drives and big HP, now another piece is in the mix...

That Daytona has a price tag of 430K! Granted that is with the Teague Motors, but even with the HO's its like 230K.
Will that be on the water this summer http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Thanks for the pics guys. Won't be able to visit the show this year. But the pics were almost like being there. BEAUTIFUL boats and one ugly one. Going to Bullhead / Laughlin and KL on 02-03-05 for 5 days to make sure there's water for our regatta. Is it almost here yet?

Ok show this year. LLOOOTTTTTTSSSSSSSSSSSSSS of WWAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overpriced stuff http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

DCB makes a great product if you are willing to pay the incredible prices he commands and want a lake rocket.

Everyone seems to be trying to get into the deck/party boat racket, some with relative success. I still think Advantage has the corner on that market ... I don't like the side placement of the captain's chair, or the scrimping on stern space for the engine hatches, or the shallow bow floors where you have to stick your legs out rather than down like a regular chair height on most models. But many of these structural choices allow for additional speed with less power, and allow saving on insurance as they are not defined as a true tunnel, all unlike my party barge ...

Good to see more and more folks going to all composite construction and vacuum bagging and each year the powerplants become more reliable and better built, but as others said ... way pricey.

Still have not found the perfect v hull for sleeping on AND going fast ... Donzi's 35 and longer models (not all at the show) have some appeal. I was REALLY turned off by the Fountain reps ... too egotistical for product. Most of the hybrids at the show (e.g., sundancer, regal, etc.) trying to make an appealing boat to sleep on but have some style appeal are built badly ...

Did not seem to connect with any on the site at the show ... you were probably all in a bar about the time I got there on Sat ... had to travel back Mon/today ...

Was an interesting show all in all ...

T&B ... agreed ... any true cat over 30' that goes over 100 the insurance costs as much as or more than the boat payment. Hell, 1k a month gets you into a new 42' Fountain Lightning Poker Run edition. I think that is the main reason that Advantage has come out with slightly different length hulls for their PartyCats (now calling them deck boats - http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif) vs. their straight enclosed tunnel hull models.

These new "deck boats" though, with all the open spaces for wind play become a much more dangerous proposition at speed than the enclosed cats with good windshields. Same hull, but 10-14 naked drunken revelers hanging about going 100mph down the lake ... + throw in a pole dance for good measure and a couple beer bongs ...

I'd rather be strapped in behind a good windshield at those speeds ...

Hey Mike, haven't seen ya around much lately. I know you were talking about moving out of the area (I think), are you still in the Vegas area? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hi Mike!

Yeah, we pulled the trigger. Moved to Boise, Idaho. I went MIA for 3-4 months because of the moves, selling then buying home, selling then buying a boat, checking out the state, etc. Looks like life is starting to return to normal!

How things on your end?

Mike
