Not really, I did shop them both. Was not as impressed with the Conquest. Hardware was not as nice, way more things that are standard on the Magic were options on the Conquest. Same bottom = same ride. And i'll keep that extra 17-20k thank you very much.

We just happen to want to sell our boats at the wrong time of the season...once the boat show comes and goes it'll be easier to sell them.

Naw...I'm not much of a gambler on selling stuff so I am waiting to sell the Sterling first then the deposit will be placed. The three things that had to happen before ordering the boat:

Finishing the new, larger Havasu house - DONE
Renting the small Havasu house - CHANGED to listed for sale
Selling the Sterling - in process (not advertised until Boat Show weekend)

So a little bit to go.

We should have final approval by the city tomorrow. A small retaining wall was necessary to get the city to sign off on the CO. That came at the last minute. We have the keys and the interior "detailing" is being done these next two weeks. We'll be back in Havasu the 28/29/30 weekend and start moving stuff into it.

The old (old? two year old) house is for sale and when the boat show gets here I'll put the boat back into the Boat Trader and some other places as well.

Started the house July 1 and for all intents and purposes they had it finished Jan 1. Little cleanup of the details and an extra retaining wall due to miscalculated slope requirements but that was done in two days as it was only a 3' high stacked block wall about 6' long. And....that's with the rain that was unusual for Havasu this year.

Now remember...the retaining wall that allowed the house ran late in getting it done by 30 days and the major grading was already done when we bought the lot. Summit committed to 185 days for the build and they met that with 4 days to spare. They build so many homes in LHC they have a pretty good idea when one will be done....great people to work with too.

That kind of stuff is b.s. I sold a utility trailer tonight and the guy wouldn't believe me when I said that a deposit wasn't necessary...that I'd hold it for him until tomorrow even if someone else offered more.

I missed it...I will have to check it out. Thanks for the info. The buyer for my boat stopped by today. Its gone in two weeks. Im sad but happy. If all goes well this weekend will be our last trip in the Essex. So many awsome memories, We have met some great people boating in our boat. Can wait to make some new ones. I like your choice of deck boats. Taking nothing away from Magic, which is a great boat, but the folks at Conquest are unbeatable in the way they stand behind their product. Watch out for Howard's new deckboat. I've watched the development of this thing since Mike starting tooling it. It will rock and so will the price tag!

Ordered on Sat. The dealer called Mon said they found my truck so I wont have to wait 6 weeks. Its just the Ford F250 FX4x4 6.0 Diesel. Getting rid of the Lincoln. I will take pics today if they get the truck from the other dealer. Mike (E502) the buyer for my boat lives up there by you. Sold it for 39.5. Once all that gets finished I will order the new one if I can still get the winter price I was offered. I might have waited to long but we wanted to get our boat sold first. I did not need or want two boat payments. If we cant get the same deal we will sit this summer out and wait till next winter. Tom(Dr Marg) last time we talked we were thinking Conquest but ended up with Magic. Conquest would not deal on the price and Magic worked a deal for 15 grand less with the 525hp. Plus the money I will have left from the old boat we will be able to put alot down. Not to say anything bad but I agree with you, Conquest make's a stronger boat and offer's a longer warrentey on the hull. I just could not pass on the price difference.

Way to go Leo. I think you're gonna dig that Magic!! I must confess...I left drool marks on the 28 foot Magic open bow cat that was at the show. Wish I would have taken pics of it. I love the way the cuddy was open to the aft deck area. My kids love cuddies and that one is huge. If I was in the market for a boat, that would be one I'd strongly consider. But man, what difference in insurance costs.

I checked out insurance and got a quote around 1000.00 Per year. Not to bad with the 525. The deck boat is the most practical boat for our needs. The stoarge is awsome and the ride through the chop is even better. We test drove a Conquest and were sold on the ride. Im changing to oil today to get it ready for the buyer. He will pick it up in two-three weeks. Any know how to transfer the registration. The boat is Arizona regerstered and the trailer is CA. The buyer had asked and Im not sure how.

Thanks Kurt. Yes we will see you there. We are leaving around 1pm Â*Friday staying untill Monday. Are you going to take the boat out? We will on Sat. to run it for one last time. Im changing to oil today to get it ready for the buyer. He will pick it up in two-three weeks. Any know how to transfer the registration. The boat is Arizona regerstered and the trailer is CA. Leo - if you sell the boat to a private party in AZ and that party registers the boat in AZ he will 1) Avoid the sales tax that the CA DMV will charge when he registers it and 2) Avoid the property tax that L.A. County (you said he lived up by me) will stick him when they get the registration info from the DMV. Otherwise, just a bill of sale then it's the buyer's responsibility to register it in the appropriate location. You should notify the AZ Department of Game and Fish when you sell it and the CA DMV for the trailer. See the online sites for more info.

Hey when he was first was buying it we had one ordered but then backed out. Now I wish we would have not backed out becouse when we tried to reorder the same boat a few months later after the old boat was finalized magic cold not offer the same deal so we are going to wait untill fall. How are they enjoying the boat? hopefully the are loving it.
