OK, KC.....If there is an award out there for being stupid....I GET IT!!!!! Â*KC stopped by and spent the afternoon with us on Friday (Great time, too). Â*We are all cruising down and somehow I get a whim to see if I can keep up with Kurt, when all of a sudden I hear a loud explosion from the rear of the boat. Â*As I turn around all I see is debris flying through the air. Â*At first I thought my engine blew and blew the engine hatch off....but that wasn't it. Â*What happened is that STUPID me had opened the hatch earlier that day and had forgot to snap the hold down straps...I guess those things are important. Â* http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif Â* Well, what happened was the hatch bounced up a little allowing the wind to get underneath it. Â* Once that happened it was like a kite.....it broke/ripped both gas shocks off and ripped the screws right out of the hinges. Â*If that wasn't bad enough, the bimini top was down and got hung up on the hatch as it was trying to fly away and ripped a small tear in my upholstry on the top. The good part of this story is, is that the engine hatch floats and that KC was right there to quickly tie a rope around it and drag it to shore for me. Â*I spent all day yesterday (Labor Day) through bolting the hinges back on and straightening my bimini back. I've been in Havasu boys and girls. Just got back today! The lake was virtually deserted after Monday! It was AWESOME! Saw about 10 boats total. And the water was like GLASS!

Havasu was nice. The weatehr was hot and himid so that kind of sucked. Hot, fine, hot + humid is just nasty.

We did not even put the boat in the water until Tuesday, too many damn crazies for me on the big weekend. So, I just watch from the channel. On Tuesday and Wednesday the lake was like glass and virtually deserted! On Wednesday at one point there were 5 boats in Steamboat and 3 of those were Essex's. We met up with E502 and his wife on Tuesday afternoon and hung out in Steamboat on Wednesday.
