I want to install permanent trickle chargers for by batteries, but I don't want to have to crawl under all the time to hook up the ext. cord. What type of adapter could I mount so I just walk up to my boat and stick the ext. cord into it and then the trickle chargers get power?
Any idea would be helpful.
Thanks

Kevnmcd, that is exactly what I was looking for thanks. I just could not find it.
Titties, you are welcome anytime. It should be delivered around Dec 15. I am going to try and run the electrical in the morning, or thursday. I have the pad ready for it, just waiting now. Between painting the house, working on the truck and other toys and taking a break to stare at the boat I have just been running way behind on everything. I may run the boat one last time this weekend. I want everything finished when the hot tub gets here so I can just stop and relax till spring. Still looking for another boat as well.

My .02 re: battery chargers ... you want to make sure you get one that is specifically for a marine application and provides for self monitoring charging ranges from 10 amps (bulk charging), to 4-8 amps (absorption), to <1.5 amps (maintenance) depending on level of charge read by charger unit.
I have a GUEST Model 2620 (203 235-4421, www.guestco.com). Three prong outlet mounts direct to the helm seat (or where-ever you like to drill a hole) and is underwired to the batteries. Works great. I plug in when loading the boat in storage, and when taking all out when storing at the end of a trip. Batteries are always ready to go.
As an aside, I would also highly recommend installing the gel type batteries for marine applications. They look like a vertical set of jelly rolls. Self contained and no water to check or add. The traditional batteries that came with my boat after about a year one of the cells in one of the batteries went bad and the charger kept trying to charge it, and when running the engine kept trying to charge both due to the continuous low read of one bad cell with the result of battery acid being sprayed all about the engine compartment. Took a day of baking soda, scrubbing, and redoing some of the wiring to clean all up and repair.
