So, where are you? Personally, I read old issues of Hot Boat over and over trying to find something new.

Hell no, I am trying to find a pic of my boat in there. But, the helicopter and the rest of the boat pack is so far ahead of me that one would need a panoramic view see me in the back. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Hell, KC - have you never read a book a second or third time and gotten something different from it? I too, review past issues of Hot Boat and Powerboat, et al...what I'm interested in the first time may not be what I'm interested the second time around. They're great for the bathroom!

I once saw a thing on "you might be a racer if:" and one of the things was if you have car parts on your desk/in your area at work.

Does this apply to boats too? I've got pics of turbo'd outboards, my new stern light mount, my helmet and my background on my computer is a pic of my boat.

Thinking of the boat is never out of the mind. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Obsessed? Nah, I just sit here at work all day spending roughly 2 of my 8 hours reading this board and others, when I get home I am on for another hour or so, and I can't tell you how many times a day I catch myself dreaming about being on the water, or how to make my boat go faster, or what the next project on it will be, and on, and on, and on.....

Obsessed? HELL NO! I am freaking crazy about it! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

i see i'm in good company http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif i have issues of hot boat dating back to '95 that i still re-read. my wife has pretty much given up all hope on being married to a sane individual. i was in the process of trying to determine how to redo the boat i've got but after several trips out to mead i'm now looking into which mid sized tunnel to buy. although i still can't seem to get a $$ amount that i'm aloud to spend yet. yup, it's official, i'm definitely obsessed with boating!

I definitely am hooked on this stuff. Now that there are some boaters in the chat rooms, I get nothing accomplished at work in the evening, well, unless someone calls 911!!

Every day I think about boating, selling ours, buying another, going to the lake............................you know how it goes!!

What does everyone do for a living and how do you guys pay for these? You guys talk about buying 50-75k boats like i talkin buying a pair of shoes. Do you guys all make payments on these?

I also got a Q, other than the cost of the boat, how much do you guys spend a month during the boating season? Including gas, food, insurance, maitenance, stuff like that?

Im curious cuz im buying my first REAL boat next year when i sell my house cuz my equity/value went sky high the last two years. Buying the boat is one thing, being able to afford to use it is another...

VegasBD-Careful what you asked for....your likely to get a book to read from some of these guys. Â* http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif Personally, I think those two brands of boats are in completely different leagues. Â*Just my .02 Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Â* I think to completely answer that question you need to provide some more info....what length? where do you boat? what do you want to do with it...cruise, wakeboard, waterski, etc? Fresh or Salt?

P.S. You might be better off starting a new topic on this subject also.

P.S.S. Â*Welcome to the jungle, baby....especially with a question like that one. Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I think my wife is sick of hearing me talk about the headers I want to buy. Especially now because Dana came out with the bolt-on's that I have been waiting for. I've showed her the article and dyno sheets about every other day now and she thinks I'm mental! I am lucky though..she loves boating as much as I do and it all works out.

Well here goes my answer. First off I can't afford shoes since I bought the boat(but you don't need them at the lake). Gas is the big one so that's why we just boat to one place and hang out all day, since we don't boat a whole lot you really don't need insurance and maintenance is low(and when something does go wrong you just get the others to help fix it). Â*And last but not least food, well most of us don't eat we just drink CHEAP beer.

Hope this helps-Rich http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

Oh BTW be careful Boating is highly Addictive!

Kevmcd-

Well, i asked bout those boats cuz im pretty set on the Nordic 25 Rage. 90% of my time will be on Mead, 9% will be in havasu and maybe once in a lifetime brave the ocean. Yes i know its not big enough for the ocean but i just wanna get out there, not talkin bout catalina run or anything.

The commander came to mind after reading the comparison POwerboat Mag did with their 26' Signature. Impressive specs, styling and pricetag. LIke i said, pretty set on the Nordic but i saw we had at least one commander owner here so wanted to hear his/their opinions. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

This year i bought a older 20' bowrider to see if id like boating and feel comfortable with it and all that and i th ink im as bout as comfortable as im ever gonna be bout moving up to a real boat and spending real money. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/insane.gif

thanx for the info-
