View Full Version : Bravo 26P Prop
Like new Bravo 4 blade 26P RH prop, used, but not abused. $325 or will trade for a 25P 3 blade.
Chris
VD,
Is it labbed or blueprinted? Any dings?
THOR IS INTERESTED
Thor-
No not labbed or BP, 1 tiny nick (smaller than a pin head), I'll put a up a picture when I get home. I miss caculated when I bought it not taking into account elevation and the extra blade. Too much RPM drop for my motor.

You sure a 25p isn't going to be too big, also? With only 330 HP, I would think you would be in the 22-23p range? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif

25P 3 Blade will be WAYYYY to much prop...drop down to the 22P 4 blade or 23P 3 blade.

That prop with $150 or so spent with York might be just the ticket for you.

The 23 Mirage that on there now put me in 4800-5000 RPMs, which is too high for the motor. Merc states max should be 4600. I figured 2" = about 400 rpms to put me back in range.

With the numbers you are stating...that just might be right. Give it a try and see. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I was told that the Bravo 26P would lower the RPMs about 800-1000.

my boat has a hard time coming on plane with a full fuel load and 4 or more people. i am currently running a 28 bravo, would a step down to a 26 solve that problem? or would i be better off going down to a 24? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif

Rude, you should be able to pull a 26P no problem, and would definately help on the low end.
I have a 26P four blade I can let you try. I will try to bring it home next week.

Rude - You would be very happy with a 26p. You would lose a little top end but with a big load the 26p would be like a 28p with a light load.

OutCole'd, I will be picking up my boat on Monday morning (12th) and will be in Havasu until Wednesday. Â*I'll watch for you and if you see me in my new Advantage chase me down because I know you can catch me. Â*If you have your three blade with you I'd love to try it and see how it compares to the four blade I'm getting stock.

I may leave the three blade here for velocity to try out. If that does not work, I will bring it with me to Havasu. Flag me down either way.

Chris....what Merc motor do you have? Usually, Mercury sets the rev limiter where it needs to be so that you don't overrev your motor. The 454 Mag rev limiter is set to 5050 I believe. It seems unusual for one of Merc's motors to be so low (4600) and it sounds like you are where you should be.
I have the 7.4L/330hp. The "optimal" rpms per Merc is 4200-4600. Hell, I'll run it to the max if I have too...

Optimal is probably where they recommend you spend most of your time cruising...the WOT recommendation or limitation is what is important. You should prop the boat so that the RPM is between the recommended numbers for the WOT. From others I've heard from it should be something like 4800-5000 for the 454's. Check your documentation of call Mercury Marine's tech support line to be sure.
RUDE,
you should be able to run the 26 at the rev limiter with a load. I am almost sure of it.

OutCole'd, sorry I missed ya on Tuesday, but things got a "little" hectic when I got up and we didn't get any boating done. I woke up Tuesday to find my boats gelcoat trashed by some assholes shade canopy that went flying at the Nautical. So I spent the remainder of my trip getting my 12 hour old boats gel coat repaired.

That sucks! Sorry to hear it. How did the boat do when you finally got it on the water, though? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

The boat ran good. Speed with the 22" Bravo 1 was about 62 hitting the rev limiter. I didn't get after it to hard with still only 5 hours on it, but had to jump it up a couple times just to see how it was. The rough water ride is great and holeshot as can be expected with this prop was super. Will see how Powell effects things. Advantage did a super job fixing the damage on the gelcoat, but it still sucks just thinking the new boat isn't new anymore.
