I registered on www.scopeinfo.com just to get ideas for offshore boats. Â*Nextasex (frank) from hot boat and Scope Info is a cool guy and knows quite a bit about boating in the deep blue.
Welcome Nextasex, to LVHB. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
the Fiesta is pretty cool, nothing great, but a really good pizza place and a cool bar in there. Riverlife can vouch for that http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â* But, Henderson and the Fiesta is only 10 or 15 minutes outside of Vegas, so you're close to all the fun stuff. Â*Personally, Ms. LM1 and I get a little tired of the strip after living here, but I think that's normal. Â*If I were coming in from out of town it would be a great place to stay!
Mead is great and the water isn't too bad, actually pretty warm. Â*Just keep and eye out if you're close to land. Â*All the dangerous spots are marked though, for the most part.
The city, well, it's Vegas, and it doesn't get much better than this. Â*You'll only be a short drive from the strip, so save your extra dollar bills Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
From LA, you're about 4 hours to Vegas with minimal traffic, a bit more if you come on a Friday night. Â*don't leave here Sunday afternoon, or if you do, expect an extra hour or two to that drive. Â*If you leave early or late Sunday, you'll be ok though (Thor, opinions here?)
What do you want to do while you're here besides boat? Not that there's much more than that to life (at least for me), but give me and idea and I can steer you the right way!
I'll look forward to seeing you at the regatta, even though I don't own a Lavey. Â*I'll be bumming around somewhere http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hey Nextasex, can you (for my own benefit) name the boat manufacturers in the pic from left to right? I guess you're the second one?

Hey thanks Greg, i didn't realize Henderson was so close to Vegas, that answers most of my questions. What about launching and places to see on the lake. how far is the ramp from henderson and what is it called?
hey thanks for the quick reply,

You can launch at LV Bay or Callville from the Fiesta pretty quick. LV Bay is probably only 15 minutes, and Callville is probably another 15 to 20 from that. LV Bay though is a little sketchy, and you have launch on the North side of the docks, plus it's crooked. Callville is fine.
Let me know if you have any more questions, and don't forget to name those boats http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

The boat up on top, red stripes and white hull is a 38' Formula (Universal Chaos), the yellow and blue is a 26'Commander(greg hubert). blue, yellow, red stripe, some checkers is me, and the lower one is a 28 sleek, shallow deadrise, definetly NOT a comfortable ocean boat!! there you go man.

Nexta,
I live in Huntington Beach and it takes me roughly 4.5-5 hours to get to Mead. That is leaving early morning.
Launch at Callville or Hemminway Harbor, those are the best places. Fiesta is cool, plus you can also stay at the Green Valley Ranch. Both are on the 215 freeway and are withinn 15-20 minutes to the lake.
BTW, Laveys are sweet. I am thinking of getting rid of the Eliminator, and Lavey is in my top 5 boats now. Are they pricy?
Greg,
I am in for 9-20. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
I may have to add some more stereo stuff. RD and the boys have some stuff that make my stereo look like an old Kraco. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif

thanks frank! SWEET looking Lavey. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Maybe I'll make my next boat a 29 NuEra http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
Thor, glad you're making it out for the RiverracerX Poker Run! Can't wait to hang out with you & the Mrs. & Abbey http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
So the name of the game is deadrise! 24 minimum frank?
Thanks

OK for the boat terminology dumba$$ (at least I know computers, Greg...so no comments from you on this http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )... What is dreadrise?

No comments, I promise.
a deadrise is the degree at which the hull is angled upwards from the transom, basically, how deep of a V the boat has.
Correct me someone if I'm not right.

Thanks for the compliment Greg, yes you must make your next boat a 29' Lavey, they are top, top, top, notch. Yes 24 degree is the way to go, a must for the ocean. you have to check out the 29' lavey. let me know if you will be going, i may just cruise to Lavey Craft also. Kev, Greg did a wonderful job of explaining deadrise. Hey Thor, thanks for the information bud, i will look into that when i get there. are Lavey's pricy? Well how can i explain this, a guy once told me when i was shopping for a boat, "When you pay good money for first quality, you only cry once. If you buy second rate, you'll cry forever!" i guess this statement comes in handy when i make purchases. The pricing is very fair and worth every penny.
see ya!
