View Full Version : Av-gas near Echo?
Craig

Anyone know if Av-gas is available anywhere around Echo Bay or even in Henderson? I'm coming up with two full tanks anyway, but it's always good to know what's available Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
How about the law around where we'll be boating? Noise, speed or any other typical hassles we should look out for?
Looking forward to hitting the road tomorrow Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Huh, N Las Vegas airport. I use to buy it there. No place near the lake though, unless you go to Havasu.

I think its the only place I've ever actually witnessed guys beaching their boats on the launch ramp after they "missed" the trailer. The thing you have to be careful about is that AV gas is not the same formulation as gasoline built for automotive purposes. It does not have the same additive packages as regular gasoline. It is formulated for high altitude use and has significantly more Tetra-ethyl lead than unleaded pump gasoline made for automotive use.

AV gas is rated differently than automotive gasoline. The 100LL AV gas which seems to be the most widely distributed, is near 100 octane rating for automotive gasolines.

I like to explore. This particular beach has been good to me for about 3 years. At the end of the season we always say that it wont be here next year and it just gets better. You can pick up Av-gas at the Boulder City airport...look for a small "boat fuel" sign to the east of the terminal, near a big hanger...they pump from a fuel truck that will most likely be right there next to the fence. The Rebel in B.C. also has the 100 octane fuel.
