Hello Las Vegas HOT BOATS!
What a day, what a trip, what an event. Â*I didn't think I was going to make it for a minute. Â*We pulled into the storage place to get the boat and damn if my trailer tire wasn't flat! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif Â*We nursed it to a Chevron, put some air in it and got to the Fiesta where they're parking lot already looked like a boat show. Â*That parking lot transormed into a Nascar pit in a matter of seconds and thanks especially to Keith, Kurt, and Gary for all of the help getting that tire changed in less than 10 minutes (yes, I made a list of what I need next time http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Off and running from the Fiesta, headed to the dam Ms. LM1 says "everything cool with the trailer?" Â*Damn again if I looked in the rear view mirror and smoke was billowing from the trailer http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif Â*at this point, I thought I was sunk. Â*I guess my trailer needs some work. Â*The brakes on it wouldn't release. Â*Thanks a ton to Dave for being creative, he put 3 stacked pennies on each side of the pin to keep the brakes from working (this was tough driving for sure). Â*Bill with the 28 Cat came up with some electric tape and off we go again!
From there, it was smooth sailing. Â*We all launched and had a great cruise to Owl. Â*AG from Brainlabor got some AWESOME footage of several member boats for a digital video he's making for LVHB. Â*He also got some great interviews of LVHB members. We all anchored up at Owl, and Beach Bum and I were off to get the photographer.
Thanks a ton Travis for taking me to get him. Â*Your ride is just too smooth and fast! Â*We got the photographer and a few of his friends, got back to Owl in a flash, and made 4 passes to a huge line of LVHB members, 22 IN ALL SHOWED UP! WHAT A TURNOUT! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Fernando snapped pictures left and right and the LVHB crew was hyped up! Â*What a blast! Â*Then Fernando got some individual pics of everyone's boat on a beach near the cove where we all were. Â*After that, it was off to the dam. Â*Fernando jumped on the 38 scarab and took speed pass pictures of all of the members he could on the way to the dam - should be some great shots in there!
The rest of the afternoon we just hung out and started a mini flotilla from the dam down to willow. Â*Chris and Matt skiid and wakeboarded a bit on the way back in what was probably 40 degree water or something up there by the dam - CRAZY!
A slow drive home for us, and what a great day! Â*I slept like a baby last night http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
The only downside for me is that I really wanted to have more time to get to hang out with some of you, and actually take some pictures of my own, but I was just busy running around etc. Â*But, there will be more trips and more events coming your way from LVHB!
Thanks for bringing the jello shooter's Keith:p
LV-ADV wish I would have had more time to check out your ride. Best wishes with the new addition to the family.
Runnin a Fever - I saw you for a split second, bummer, I wanted to check out your ride too!
Dave, as always, thanks for everything
AG, thanks for doing the video footage, can't wait to see it!
We'll see you out on the lakes soon! (after I get some new tires on the trailer and it working right http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif )
Thanks to everyone for making this a HUGE SUCCESS!
Greg
PS, if any of you got pics, please post them and email them to me, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Mrs. Rude and I had a GREAT time this weekend! we weren't sure what to expect being the slowest and smallest boat of the group but everything went very smoothly. thanx D4$ for routinely checking up on us. from what i've counted so far we took just over 3 rolls of film. once we get them developed we'll try to post them or email them to you greg and to the owners of whatever boats we happened to get. i wish we could have mingled a bit more with the other group members too but it was kind of tough. i'm sure we'll have plenty more opportunities to so. for those that didn't stick around for sunday, it was quite windy still but the water didn't seem to be quite as rough. hope everyone had a safe trip home. see ya'll next time http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

WOW!!! Â*Where to begin....
Greg - Let me start with you, Thanks for putting this little "shindig" together. Â*That was a blast. Â*I hope that there are more of those in the works for the future. Â*I was bummed that I didn't get to talk to you more...maybe next time.
Runnin A Fever - Thanks for hooking up with Kurt and me for the trip out there. Â*It is always more fun to caravan. Â*Nice Fountain, too. Â*
Beach Bum - That is one fast ride Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif Thanks for the thrill!
Riverlife - It was great to finally put a face with the name. Â*Got to love the boat...it definately is a classic! Â*Thanks for picking such a great spot too.
I could go on and on about each person that I met out there...but let me just say that you are all a great bunch of people! Â*http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I enjoyed meeting each and everyone of you. Â*We will definately have to do some more of those trips!

Great trip! I think..... yeah, great trip!
I started the weekend bringing two gals, one that I had known for a couple months and one that I had never met.... It sounded like a good idea....
We met at 3:00 AM on Friday, a bit of chit chat on the way up but basically the gals got to sleep the whole way to Parker before the sun came up. Between Parker and Havasu everything was going well, good music and good conversation. We picked up the boat in Havasu and headed for Laughlin...... maybe we shouldn't have skipped breakfast. Launched at Katherine's Landing, found a few quiet coves to hang out in for the morning, then went back for the 1:00 slip call, everything seemed fine. I was on page seven of nine pages and only four slips larger than 20 feet available - done with that wait.
We found Mike and Lisa, EsSex502, and followed them to a great cove to spend the afternoon... By now something had changed between the gals, we are talking about some serious disputes over territorial rights or something... Back to Laughlin late in the afternoon, dropped the gals off and I went to park my ride and the rig... By the time I got back to the room the one gal that I knew was headed for home, the other was going for a walk. I was like, #$% this I'm going out for dinner and a strong drink!
The rest of the weekend was fantastic http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
It was nice to hook up with everyone and place some faces with the words that I have read. I would have liked to have met everyone but I kind of had my hands full!
Saturday, a group of us headed from Cottonwood to Owl Cove. Almost everyone in the group had a map or a GPS... and none of us knew how to make sense of the two - but we found it! The cove was pretty wind blown upon our arrival so we hunkered up close to a high ridge in hopes that the photographer could take a few silvers from up top... Four boats, then two more, then four more, then it just started growing and growing. I think I counted 14 boats rafted together in the shape of a cresent moon - would have made a great arial shot.
The photographer arrived and did his thing for a few minutes, the guys who pulled together the video did a great job of getting everyone on tape!
We decided to go explore the coves of the lake on our way up to the dam, lost the sunglasses so we headed back to Cottonwood to the store. The trip back was good fun! We are talking four to five foot rollers in the wide sections of the lake, serious hang time at wide open throttle!
So when is the next trip?
I'll just bring the one gal next time!

WoW what a blast. Thanx Greg for puttiing that one on. One of the best times i've had in a long while. Thanx also to Dave for haulin' my A$$ around all day. It was great to meet you guys. D4$ sorry about that I was a little confused on where we were launching but it worked out in the end. What a beautiful trip up to the Dam. We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again. Thanx too all. especially Keith for the Jello shots http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

We had a great time! It was nice to put a face to the screen names, although I did not get a chance to meet everyone. We cruised up from Havasu on SAturday morning, not tha tbad of a drive, and then cruised back via Laughlin with E502 and H20Advantage.
KC, E502, H20Advantage, it was great meeting all of you and hanging with you all day! I apologize but I forget the names of who else I talked with but it was a blast!
The only downside was the water, like a GD ocean! And that was the little basin! I'd have hate to see what the large basin was like! I've been in some nasty stuff at Havasu, but never that nasty!
Yep,
Plenty of sweet a$$ rides with cool people in them. Was linked between LV adv and RL which was cool. I have to say that everyone there was very cool and nice.
KC, I saw with that girl and you guys looked like you were husband and wife http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
Greg, nice job again.
RL,
you and Trina are way cool
LV adv,

Dave,
glad to see you out there again after a such a long time.
Keith,
I will slap you if you dont quit buzzing around me a 95 mph http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Beach Bum,
That dam boat seems to sound stronger and stronger evertime I see it. I am not allowed to look at your boat anymore because my wife is in fear that I will come home with a new boat and payments http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Sorry I couldn't meet anyone else. I was mixing over on the boat for the western end of the tie-up.

OK, I need all of your help. There were 22 boats I'm told, I estimate 4 people per boat. That's fine, but here's the list of boats I have to give the info to Hot Boat, I'm missing 3, please if any of you see one missing let me know.

Hey Greg-I think you are missing the bass boat that was there. Â* http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif There was also a 25' Advantage that I think you missed (Orange/White) it was tied up next Thor, I believe....maybe Thor can help? I can't think of any others.

Good call on the 25 advantage, there's one! That's LV-Advantage (I thought it was on there but didn't check close enough I guess). There's two more I need.
There was another Baja that came a little late. I dont know who it was though. It has a pretty young thang with a pink T-back on.
Who's Baja? Bueller?

Man, I had a great time. Yeah, it was a little rough, but go around that corner towards Cottonwood...watchout. I put more water in the boat than ever before. Felt like swimming rather than boating. Oh well, the hassles of a small boat.
Had a great time though...note to self: bring the big cooler with mucho jello shots next time! Yummy.
Thanks for setting all this up Greg. Emelio brought his bass boat with the Merc on it. Not sure the make...maybe a Ranger. Ask Kevin.
Hey,
When you guys left from Owl Point I heard and saw all of you. That was SWEET.
Did any of you see me and Mrs. Thor tied up in that cove to your left? Pretty impressive to see all of you guys fly by us in that cove.

Yep, very fun in deed!! I'd say 22 boats showing up after only being around for a couple months is a very good start. I bet the 2nd Annual LVHB Regatta will be at least twice as big. I can't wait! You all seem to be nice people with your posts and meeting you all in person proved that to be true. I tried to swim down and meet everyone else, sorry if I didn't make it over to some boats (which all looked very nice to me). Thor, very nice to meet you and Jen you two are very cool, we want to take you up on that dinner sometime. Kevin, I'll take it as a good thing that my boat is "definitely a classic" http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif When you bring your own boat next time, we'll tie up together and talk classics http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Omega1, time for a name change. Glad everything worked out for the new boat, even though it was last minute (literally!http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Very nice ride in person.
Greg, maybe I can help with some of the UFOs (Unidentified Floating Objects). The 30' Fountain couldn't make it, but we had two last minute entries which was a 29' Magic Wizard, and his daughter which was a 21' Kachina.
Very Fun trip, lets do it again soon!!!!!!!!!

Just got back! What a great time...
kc0000 - quite a handful you had for a couple of days! Great fun Saturday at the cove we found. Saw that you got one of the "super secret" parking spots Saturday night.
HD - Fantastic finally meeting you and your dad - both of ya' are great people! Can't wait to hang again with ya' at the RRX Regatta next month. You're right - we took the boat back to Havasu on Sunday via Arizona 95 and only took us 1 hour 10 minutes to make the trip - at the speed limit no less. Much better than the River Road Cutoff.
H2O Advantage - Great to meet the two of you and we really enjoyed dinner Saturday night. Hope to see you soon too.
The rest that we met were super too though we really didn't get to meet everyone.

EssexMonarch. I originally went by Essex_Sterling on Hot Boat but changed it to my current screen name.

EsseXXX?
Alright, some good ideas. So far I'm partial to Blown'4Essex. By the way, the "Blown" part has to do with the fact that I'm a professional trumpet player, not that I have a blown engine. Thanks for the ideas, keep em coming!

Yeah, but she could keep up with the best of them on wipin' that thing down! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Your going to have to have her show my wife how to do that. I don't think my wife even knows what a chamois is. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Hey Greg-
We had a good time despite have troubles with the new powerhead on the eggbeater. Not to mention the crack on the pad, that causes water to leak into the boat. My friend Emilio Miliares joined us with his fishing boat, it is a 18 Champion with 200 Merc outboard. I'm not sure what's wrong with my engine maybe some bad gas, but I'll figure it out, seemed to work better on the way back to Willow. For your record my boat is a 1988 Hydrostream 20 foot HST, it has a 2.4 Mercury outboard.
Thanks for the event, I know it takes some work to make these things happen

Rl, I just gotta say, that picture of your boat does NOT do it justice! It's WAY better in person!

Do we know when HotBoat will have the photos available? Are they going to post them in the Boat Pictures section or http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif I for one would like to get any copies of our boat!
What's the plan?

I haven't heard back yet. They'll do an article and should make pictures available to me at some point - then I'll distribute them somehow.
Keep checking in for the latest info!

Thanks for the compliment on the boat guys. Maybe this regatta will turn up a better picture. Maybe one of you have a picture of it? Also, I wouldn't mind seeing the video in a downloadable format for my computer.
