Need geek help again...

I need some computer geek help again. I've got this optical mouse, its getting really skittish on me, cursor is bouncing all around sometimes. Is the mouse going bad or am I developing Parkinsons?

Try adjusting your mouse settings in your control panel.

throw it at the wall then stomp it a couple times,then change the batts.

Nope not wireless here. Been using the same mouse pad for forever, pull it out and replace with a sheet of white paper, it seems to be working fine now.
