Anybody been there yet? I was at the bar called "Al's Garage" until about 3:00 Sunday morning. Pretty cool place. Most of the stores seem geared for the other halves but REI looks pretty cool. The whole feel of the street with the lofts up above is very chic (yeah, I said it ). Can't hurt the property values either.

Haven't been there yet but heard it was really cool. They're opening a Fidelity office there - first one in Vegas http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Stoped by the district on the way into the lake Friday, hey had to see what something "chic" looked like. Ate at a place called Lucille's barbeque. My god it was good. Had a tri tip sandwich, best I ever had. Average priced spent about 40 for the 3 of us. We got there just in time, waited about 15-20 minutes, but as we were leaving it looked more like 1 hour or more.

Lucille's has a good atmosphere too. Those condos above the stores are selling for over a million with a view of the strip.

Lucille's BBQ is a chain that is located all over SoCal. We have one here in Torrance.

Never been to GVR but I've seen it on that Discovery show American Casino, funny stuff! Is GVR a high-end casino? I kind of get that feeling from watching the show.

Maybe if there's enough interest...we can plan a SoCal LVHB chapter meeting at a Lucille's that's close to half way between the extremes...Simi being on the Northwest and OC on the South with hell..is it Riverside to the East??

Can we plan this in November? Looking at the Lucille's site they are opening one in Rancho Cucamonga then. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

This would be a pretty cool deal, the atmosphere there is a great one for a party.

went to the ranch Sunday night - played in the high limits for the first time (damn that crown on the rocks put rocks in my head) but it was a BLAST!

the ranch is definitely a higher end casino for a locals place.

Sure...but I kinda' had the idea of a location a little more central to the SoCal contingent.

Dicudmore - Simi
Essex502 - Valencia
CCRacing - Northridge
Rivercrazy - Calabassas

Others on the northwest end of SoCal ... ??

The one in Rancho Cucamonga is opening in the Victoria Gardens. This sounds exactly like The District. High end stores with lofts above the stores.... It sound like this should be a good place to take the family.

Its not a bad area. Was just down there a few months ago they have a cool looking new "old downtown" area.

Problem is an area between the two that is a bout equal didtance is not an area you want to be in. you are looking at Rosemead , El Monte, Montabello, East Los Angeles, maybe West Covina or Rowland Hieghts, nothing real desirable.

Torrance might be equal driving distance though not in a straight line.

To Torrance from:
Riverside 62
Valencia 50
T.C. 57

To Brea from:
Riverside 38
Valencia 70
T.C. 35

To Long Beach from:
Riverside 59
Simi 64
T.C. 49
Ok Torrance is more in the middle than the others but its still a long haul to any of the three. Especially after a night of drinking. How 'bout it T&B which one is closest for you? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Essex502
06-24-2004, 05:41 AM
That's the tough part...we're so spread out between locations in SoCal there isn't a "close, central" spot. Just don't drink so much or have a designated driver!

For T&B it looks to be around 539 miles! That crazy guy is likely to show up!
