Anyone have referrals for a pool builder here in Vegas?

Ya gotta have a yard big enough for a pool first. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Get a boat, not a pool

Boats first, but geez a pool and spa is a necessary item in Vegas.

We shopped around alot and there are alot of shady characters in the business, including some of the bigger builder names. Went with Paddock and used Jim Carey at the Lake Mead and Rainbow office in the northwest. They're a little more expensive, but all is guaranteed ... infloor cleaning system for the life of the pool, shell for 7 years, all plumbing and etc. for 5 years. For a $50 service call, they have fixed a host of things from automatic valve replacements, to re-adjusting the infloor, to re-coating some of the permadeck, to etc. Something always goes wrong with pools, so the stronger the guarantees and the better the backup of such, the better. Some of my neighbors who decided to do the project on the cheap or with themselves as contractors are now embroiled in maintenance or fixit challenges.

Also, by NV law, pool construction is a no money down and no payment until the project is complete type of deal. Anyone who asks for cash or deposit up front is in violation of statute.

Good luck ...

Greg, I used Pools by Grube last year and would not recomend them. The pool turned out fine, but they were a complete pain in the ass. They do not communicate with their customers worth a shit.

I've owned two houses with pools before - CONSTANTLY used the spa, the pool a little less but still used it fairly regularly - besides, gotta teach the little guys how to swim right? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It's too damn hot here to not have one!

Greg, can I come over and boat in your pool since you'll be taking all the water from the lake? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Did you hit Megabucks or what? You're asking about pools, concrete, entertainment centers, just got your eyes done, etc. Cmon Greg, what's the skinny?

nuttin' really, just want to take advantage of the house going up so much in value and do some stuff around here - hopefully a pool, maybe ent. ctr., maybe do some painting etc.

The eyes - well I've been wanting to do that for a very long time. It's so cool being able to see.

Also got a great tax refund thanks to Bush! God I love Bush! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Echo T&B. Wife talked me into a pretty large pool and a gas heater. First time I cranked up the heater in winter when folks and kids were over cost me over $400 for a three day weekend. Just cover it in the winter, let the sun warm it up in spring.

Those bubble wrap type solar covers do a prety good job of warming it up.
