New to this forum so bear with me. Actually new to the performance boating scene. I have put off the purchase of a boat for several years while building a business. Now is the time however and was looking for an opinion or two. I am strongly considering a Lavey Craft 29.5 Nu-era with a 500 efi.
Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about either this model of boat or about the company and their reputation after the sale. They seem to me to be pretty upstanding and concerned about producing a quality product. I am not as concerned about price as I am about a fine quality boat. I am not looking to get raped either. Any other recomendations?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I absolutely positively love my essex http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif They have a great looking 29 foot too. I don't know much about lavey though, wish I could help on that one, but I'm sure someone will be able too.

I think I'm going to look at HTM next time I buy as well, I just like the looks of their boats.

I can tell you just about anything regarding essex if you're interested though, and I looked at a few, just let me know

Oh yeah,

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS!

I'm with Greg, I absolutely, 100% love my Essex and am pleased with my purchase. I've also since come to know Ron and Steve, the owners, pretty well. I can give you the lowdown on my experience with Essex, and a couple other builders if you like, and my experiences with Essex for Service, TOP NOTCH! Just e-mail me, it's in my profile.

Greg, you going to the regatta this year? If so, let me know, you'll have to get into town early and come out to the house for some beers.

I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss it, but I have a wedding to go to that weekend. It's my girlfriends brother. I'm bummed, but gotta do whatcha gotta do.

You know what, I got HD and HL mixed up, I didn't get pics of your boat, it was HL's. Sorry about that. I would like to put you're boat on the site though. I couldn't get that one pic over to my buddy to put it up for some reason. I don't know if it was my computer or what. If you could send it again though I'll get it on there.

Thanks

I'll send you the pics tonight.

Bummer about the regatta, but oh well, like you said, sometimes there are things that you just have to do. I'm sure we'll be able to meet up in Havasu as the season progresses.

"willy", welcome aboard!! Can't really help you with the boat question, I have a Schiada, and like Lakemead1 I am thinking HTM in the future (I just want to try a cat)!! I hear Lavey is a fine boat however. I mainly wanted to welcome you in. I can also think of some pretty cool avatars to go along with a name like that!!!!!!! http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

BTW - I believe Schiada is making a boat in your size range, might not hurt to check it out too if it's quality you want.

Yep, I gotta agree.. I love my 22' Essex too. They really make a tight package. I think you have to look at resale as well because you can't hardly find a used Essex for sale.

Yep, the Essex holds its value very well. I've actually heard of some guys selling 3, 4, and 5 year old Essex boats for MORE than they paid for them.
