BADFISH II

I said I'd start a new thread when I responded to the remarks, here it is
Ok,here I am - for those of you (Dennis - aka cookit) who think I'm uninterested in this group of fun loving boaters take heed, I'm traveling quite a bit now and have very limited internet access.
In fact I'm typing now because I've had concerned members calling me, and I'm actually in Chicago packing for Minnesota in the morning.
I was going to keep my mouth shut about how unethical you and your designer are out of courtesy because I respected you Dennis, but I just lost all respect for you. There is no more professional courtesy for you on my part.
Members, Dennis and his counterparts created the logo for the first shirt, first hats, and second hats - and did a great job. I've had nothing but respect for Dennis as he treated me fairly until his last antics. Although Dennis has told me several times to charge you all for memberships and include hats and shirts (his financial gain) I kept saying NO!
I started this site and great group of people because I wanted to bring together people who have common interests - BOATING - in Vegas and surrounding states. I never wanted to make money from this site, and although so many of you have been so generous it does cost to maintain the site and such is life! I haven't yet and never expect to break even.
Instead I've considered myself so very fortunate to meet some of the best people in the world - who love what I and Mrs. LM1 do - Boating. That in itself is more than payment enough - because the people I've met and friendships the wife and I have formed are indeed priceless. I've accomplished everything I ever set out to do - meet great people who love what we do and get together for great times on the water.
So I never wanted to charge for memberships, and never will. This is for fun to meet great people. I don't run a magazine and I'm not offshoreonly.
That being said, Dennis - it's passed your bedtime. You should never have made the comments you did.
LVHB members, here's the deal:
I wanted new shirts, Dennis said he'd do them with his designer. I wanted ideas and Riverlife (the main concept maker) and other members especially gave me some awesome ideas. I gave Dennis the ideas.
Dennis's designer came up with some fugly portholes and a few designs that were not acceptable - at best. I gave him some instruction on what would look decent. He took some direction and made some changes.
Then the real fun started. Dennis actually took ideas from this board that other lvhber's posted and incorporated them to the design without ever telling me I was being charged per change. YES, that's right, he took it upon himself to make changes to the design that I was to pay for.
I've fronted all the money for the shirts hats stickers and such - and been F'D before (stickers). I never thought I would get it again from someone I respected - I did.
Never once did I sign a contract and never once was I told I was being charged for every little change-including the ones Dennis decided to make for me.
In fact I paid $100 for the first design of the shirts and expected to pay the same this time.
I don't know about the rest of you, but money is tight. I don't make millions and sit on a 500K boat! Dennis told me it was $190 because of all of the changes made (to me they were pretty obvious like making the damn actually look like the damn, etc.) - I told him I never knew he was charging for every little thing and to work with me. I would have paid what was fair, in fact I offered to pay what was fair and was willing to pay more than $100 even though I was NEVER EVER INFORMED THAT HE WAS MAKING CHANGES FOR ME OR I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR EVERY LITTLE CHANGE! I thought it would cost the same as the first shirt design - which I came up with.
This is the real story - these people know me Dennis so don't even come in here with your BS and try to lie.
So I asked him to work with me on the price a bit - I told him I was not informed of the changes and thought it was not right he made changes (cost to me) I was unaware of - but I would work with him.
Instead of doing that he decided to sever our relationship after asking me if he could sell my logo shirts. I told him no - LVHB cannot be sold - especially for someone's profit - someone none of us have ever even met on the lake.
Am I disinterested? Dennis you're ignorant and your ramblings don't make sense. Boating is a part of my and my wife's lives. It will be a part of my children's lives. Was it a good financial decision to sell the boat this summer - hell yes it was! We want a bigger boat anyway, and why pay all year for a boat we can't use every weekend? Most of you remember we were on the lake EVERY weekend last summer - it is part of our lives - even the wife is set on a new boat as soon as it's practical. That stupid comment of yours pissed me off the most if you must know.
DON'T CALL MY HOUSE OR MY WORK AGAIN DENNIS! Yes, since he opened up the can - DON'T CALL MY HOUSE, I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TO YOU AFTER YOUR IGNORANT COMMENTS.
In fact what's funny, is Dennis even sent me a pm the night he posted his shirts for sale on my site. Although I wasn't terribly fond of the idea I wished him the best and told him I liked working with him and respected him. Blow that out the window! Don't ever try to sell your wares on this site again.
To you all - the LVHB members who are active on this board and visit our local lakes (what's your post count again Dennis? How often are you on here? When have you ever met any members actually on the lake?) I'm sorry I cannot provide shirts at this time. I could have very easily taken that logo with the LVHB in the sign and used it. I feel I was dealt with unethically. He had sent me the logo. I had it. I could have had any other shirt guy do it, and probably for cheaper - I didn't because I am not unethical. We came to an impass in our business dealings and I did not feel it was fair to use the logo.
BTW - YOU DENNIS DID NOT COME UP WITH THAT IDEA FOR THE LOGO - YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE CREDIT FOR SOMEONE ELSES IDEA. That was indeed Riverlife's, and other input from the rest of the LVHB members, idea!
Dennis - Coolit - I don't think anyone want's to hear anymore of your babble. I kept my mouth shut out of respect and you lost that. Don't ever market your shit on our website again - in fact you are not welcome on these boards anymore.
I'm copying this and starting a new thread so new viewers can see what's up.
I wish you all a wonderfull week and I'll try to catch up more next week with the boards.
Good night!
Greg
