Just wanted to say hello... and what a sweet site! This forum seems to be less of a soap opera than the Hot Boat one... kinda nice... ok really nice. I'm mostly a lurker and post from time to time... whenever I feel I can help.

Anyway, the wife and I live in CO and will be traveling through your area and are bringing the boat this time. Whaa Ha! My first time on Mead! We usually go to Powell, but we're combining the stop at Mead with a trip to CA (to visit the inlaws). I'm looking for a "secure" place to store a 1987, 22' Pachanga for about 5 days while we're in CA (close to Mead)... any help/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Welcome grog! Glad you chimed in to say hi.

I'm not sure where you could store your boat out here for 5 days. I keep mine at Green Horizon storage which is definitely secure, and even covered, but I'm not sure if they'll do the short time thing. Check them out though, because I would recommend it if they do. Their number is 702-270-9986.

Anyways, keep us posted on your trip - maybe we'll be out that week and can hook up for a cold one or something.

Do you need any service? Maybe a five day oil change at a local shop could work for you.

Welcome aboard grog!!!!! Good point Thor. I feel like a dick when I do it, but we can't keep boats here in our neighborhood, so I just "shop hop" until I'm heading back out.

The five day oil change sound like the way to go! Let me know if you can not find anything, I have a 50 foot boat bay in Havasu that might hold both of our boats for a short period of time. Havasu is about 50 mile south of Katherines Landing at the southern most part of Lake Mojave.

Good luck with the oil change!

Thanks for all of the input guys! I really appreciate it. I never thought of leaving it at a shop... if I were to use the 5-day oil change, where would be a good place to go?

KC - Thank you for the most generous offer... it's good to see people willing to help to that degree, it says alot about your character. However, Havasu is a bit out of the way so I think we'll stay closer to Mead on this trip. Again - thanks.

Grog-You can park in my driveway if you want. There's plenty of room and it sure will keep the neighbors wondering what I'm doing.

Yeah Grog, same here. You can park it in my side yard if you're so inclined...and it's gated and locked as well.

I wish I had a side yard to park my boat in http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Hey Keith, could a few of us park our boats at your place. My wife would love to get the boat out of the garage. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

that's funny, I keep logging on and looking at this topic "introducing myself" and I keep thinking of Austin Powers "allow myself... to introduce myself"

Mine would be in the garage if I could get it to fit!

Hey guys, thanks for the offers. We're finalizing our plans and I'll get back to you later today... been kinda busy with all the fires around here. The Hayman fire (I think is 85,000+ acres) is about 20 miles away and closing so everyone and their brother is calling the fire dept. on every little cloud or dust storm -- keeps us kinda busy. Anyway, I can't wait to get out there and spend some vacation time on the lake.

Thanks,
Greg

Keith- It looks like you could use some concrete on that side yard. I can get you hooked up whenever your ready if its in your plans.

Sweet D4$. I've been quoted $2500 so far. It's behind other toys though.

Thanks everyone for you generous offers... we've decided to take the boat with us and possibly visit some lakes in CA too. Oh well... more boating... not a bad thing. Besides, with all the crap we're packing, I need the boat as as storage... funny how that happens.

We'll be on Mead, probably in the Overton arm out of Echo Bay next week... if you see a white 22' cuddy with the name of Heidi Ho, flag us down for a cold one.

Regards,
g

Are you going to be at Mead on Saturday? I'm planning to get out there for a while as long as my heads show up Friday.
