Went down to Ontario this past weekend and purchased a new boat. We bought the model they were building for their showroom. It is a 25'-0" Laser Fury. It is only the 3rd boat of this model produced. It has a 496 HO and is open bow with a cuddy cabin between the cockpit and the bow. Laser is a spin off of Essex Boats in fact they are located across the street from each other. The boat will be finished June 28. Took pictures but they disk fried in my trunk going through the dessert and lost its formatting. The gel coat design and quality are awesome. It is a step vee. Top speed is only 75 with this engine package but I guess that is pretty good for the money. Anyhow that means my boat is on the selling block. Someone who is into an older/new daycruiser jet boat (See money pits pics) is going to get a great boat for a real reasonable price considering I droped close to $30,000 into the thing. I am realilistic in the fact that I am selling a 1976 hull with 2002 accessories. I haven't yet decided on a low figure that I will part with my boat but I will tell you a little about her. In the last 2 weeks I installed a new MSD billet distributer, MSD 6A ignition box and master blaster coil. A blue holley fuel pump and new marine strarter. The 450+ hp 454 has around 35 hrs on it and has gear drive an ultra dyne cam with .550 lift on the intake and .575 on the exhaust with 110 degree lobe centers. the heads were machined, ported and flowed by A1 in Henderson and have Manley stainless swirled valves and roller rockers. It has a Weiand Tunnel ram with a pair on Holley 600 cfm carbs. The exhaust is Eddie Marine Thunder water jacketed thru the transom headers. The upholstry was done last year and is white purple and gray. The bimimi top is 8' from front to back and is white. The boat was gel coated all white last year and has purple, kawasaki green, charcoal and black vinyl grapics with matching grapics on the dual axle trailer. I installed a foot pedal trottle and new white shifter from Rex Marine. The new gauges are Rex Marine white with black accu sport. The new steering wheel is a formling. The ass end of the boat has a rebuilt balanced and blueprinted Berkley 12 JG with a place diverter. There is a set of 12"X12" Bennett hydraulic sport tabs (Trim),Set of Rex Marine 24" swim steps and 4" stainless exhuast tips. All new wiring harness. The tunes are a removeable face Jensen CD with 4 Jensen Marine speakers. The new windsheild is from L&L Marine. The trailer has all new tires, rims, lights, wiring, runners with new carpet and a new tongue jack. The only things I did not replace on this boat was the blower, blower vents and the front and rear light sockets. The carpet is black and imco built me 2-22 gallon coast gaurd approved fuel tanks. The boat does a legit 65 mph loaded and 70+ solo'. I had to put $12,000 down on the new boat and although I'd be crying I would probly part with her for something in that range.

Now on to the old one. After all that, I dont know if I could sell it. That tthing has your busted knuckels, time, craftsmanship and heart in it. It would be like selling my dog. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

For 12K, someone will get a hell if a deal and I am sure a little part of the family.

Congrats, Eric. Was it the bad fuel pump that put you over the edge? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It was the next 2 weekends that put me over the egde.
Week 1: Towed in due to either my distrbutor or ignition box going out, replaced both plus the coil.
Week 2: Replaced the starter while drifting around the cove at kingman wash with a boatload full of people. Had to take off the exhaust on that side to get to it. Just happened to purchase a new starter the week before after cranking over the motor so much the prior 2 week ends.

Thanks guys. No I did not go on a demo ride yet. It is only the third one produced and the one at the show is the only one on the water. Mine and one other are under construction. I guess I am rolling the dice a little bit but everything laser has built to this point has gotten rave reveiws from hot boat mag. and their attention to detail with their glass work, gel coat, set up and rigging impressed me. I looked at quite a few different boats that were priced anywhere from 30% to 50% higher and this boat is as nice as any of them including the 28' advantage victory I almost bought at offshore marine. Also this boat comes stock with almost every option available. The only real upgrades available are gel coat and motor upgrades which I took both. Oh yeah there are also stereo upgrades.
