Lake Mead

New to this site! Going to Lake Mead for Memorial Weekend. My buddy has a mobile trailer on the lake. I hear the lake is real low and that there are a lot of obstacles. Looking for some cool sandy beaches and some people to party with. Any info would be great!

Second, try sandy beach just outside of Callville and LVHB Beach (look at the map on the site) those are the two best beaches unless you want to go to big sandy up at the end of my basin (Greg's basin ha ha) or way up the overton arm on the west side of the lake there are some too.

yup - and yes, still am! I've got twins that will be born tomorrow and want a bigger boat. I love it, but I don't think we'll get to use it a whole lot this year so we figured we'd look for a 25-27 ft. boat next year.

Do you live in Vegas or are you just coming for memorial?
Regarding the low water, it seems to me that the biggest problem is in the marinas. I was at Hemingway last Sunday afternoon and even at the docks, you had to be completely trimmed up (i had to make a friendly visit to Kevin at the prop shop this week http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif ).

We will be out on Mead Memorial day weekend. Camp at Temple bar and then hit sandy at least once. If the wind is up, then maybe willow or havasu. Hoping for Mead.

I will coming from Socal on Thursday night or Friday morning. We plan on heading down to temple bar and big sandy if it is not to windy. I have a 2003 21 foot Ultra Stealth white/midnight blue. I am working on posting some pics of the boat. Only had it out a few times so I don't have very many pics. I will post the pics I have once I get to my computer with the images. Can't wait to get away from work and head to the lake.

We're going to be there. We like to launch out of Calville Bay. I have a friend that will be on a house boat up in the Overton Arm so will find them and hang out or be at Hallett Beach.

works for me! Are you using the "browse" button beneath the text window where it says "File Attachments"? Do not use "Image" above the text window.

When I add the path to the "Browse" field and try to preview the post it directs to the following URL http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi

Chad, is it a .jpg extension? If it's .bmp it won't work - use adobe or paint or something and convert it to .jpg - that should work!

I tried several other formats but currently it is in .jpg format. I wonder if it has something to do with firewall settings. I have tried it saving it on yahoo and also from my home and work PC's. Very wierd.

that is wierd, doesn't sound right. Sorry to repeat, but there can't be any _ or $ or any other symbols in the file name, just letters and numbers with no spaces

Can the beach be seen from a distance away or do you need to work your way down a cove? I hear the lake is down a total of 70 feet. I was there in 2001 Labor Day and the lake was down about 25 feet.
