Question for you guys, let's just say you heard CFP's were good to go to for investment help. How would you find one?

Oh yeah, if you would search on the internet, what would you search for (what would you type into the little box?)?
If you would look in the phone book, what section of the book would you go too first?
I would ask you.
Greg, who do you suggest to help me out with my financial planning?

Ask others about their experience with one and get recomendations. Or go with a known firm.
Looking to increase your brand reputation??

yes and no.
Thor you're a smartass (actually a dumbass http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif )
I want to make a website for myself representing the services I offer as a CFP. Your answers will tell me how to tweak the content, tags and such of the site to get top results.
You see, if I lived in Vegas (which I do) and wanted help with investments I would probably type in "find a cfp in Vegas" but what I want to know is what would YOU search for.
If it's "find a cfp in las vegas" then I would tweak the content to pick up those words as search terms - got it? http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Seriously, I always refer to friends and family for money issues.
I currently use Solomon, Smith Barney and Fidelity.
Does that help?

Got it. I would just type in CFP, or retiment planning, money managment, something like that.
I am with THOR, ask around. Thats what I did. I am with Merril Lynch and I do allot by myself. My father and father in law are both CPAs and know quite a bit about the market. So I go to them. More my father in law.

Why don't you have a seminar where we would all get free prizes like coolers or stainless steel props, etc, just for sitting around for two hours and being bored to death. It works well for the time share people. http://www.lasvegashotboats.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif

Seriously, I would type in cfp or personal investment.
Also, you guys must be on a day to day, hour to hour watch these days. Getting nervous?

If I were looking for someone, I would try for a personal referal. When it comes to $, I would not trust the phone book, or the net.
By the way Greg, Good luck with the countdown. It is going to be great. Your life will never be the same. It will be much better.
Bill.

Strickly word of mouth for me. I would have to talk to friends and associates who use planners and get referrals that way. I don't know if I'd try to locate a CFP via the Internet.
